Noted on "Bug Reporting" thread.

For 9/19/14 TSP.gov shows share value of G as 14.5272 up .0009 from previous close.

Re: Un-precidented earnings in the G Fund today

Something really strange must be going on, because the report for today earnings show the G Fund at a +2.80 % - for just today! I'm not complaining, because that is where I currently am, but it usually only accrues 0.01 % per day. TSP typo, or something else? For 9/19/14 TSP.gov shows share value o...

Re: The F is the "Shunned Fund"... Seriously?

I have been two thirds G and one third F for some time for both capital and new contributions after recovering from the big drop in 2008 (sort of a half formed process I never got back to completing). The intention was to jump back into a mix of G, F, C, S and I Funds that I had always maintained (h...

Re: The F is the "Shunned Fund"... Seriously?

Perhaps human nature plays a part in why the F Fund is the “Shunned Fund”. It may boil down to the mental assessment fund participants take of risk verses reward potential. The G Fund is a no risk fund (risk of being overtaken by inflation aside), so G is seen as a great parking place (not really go...

Re: Seasonal approach and fortitude to do the IFT

Thanks retirehawk, I will look for the TSP option that you mention, had not found an early draw option as early as that (if I continue working until at least 55 yrs of age, I would have full access without penalty, that was the earliest I had read up on). I don't expect to need it, but it would be n...

Seasonal approach and fortitude to do the IFT

I’m into the down stretch of a five year self-imposed window for optional retirement and have likely been too conservative in my TSP fund choices (having missed buying opportunity during 2012). As I will be too young to withdraw from TSP when I retire, I am coming to the late conclusion that my five...
