Re: What’s Your Excuse?
I ventured to violate every rule in the book and succeeded admirably: - I'm retired and living off my TSP. Shoulda just camped in L Income. - Thought I'd make a killing when the market dropped 10%, so jumped in with both feet, only to watch the market drop another 15%... - Yikes! Maybe the market wi...

Re: Nervous....
Does anyone know why the S fund is outperforming the C these past few months? Seems all of a sudden. And the C fund is actually dropping somewhat as the S increases. What's going on here? Thanks and good luck everyone. I noticed the same thing and had the same question. Seems to me that COVID has i...

Re: ABC pattern
Interesting that you would put your strategy on the COVID-19 cases. Don't you think the economic impact will continue for weeks/months after we see no-new-cases? If you take COVID-19 out of the equation seeing high unemployment, low/no profit from major companies, and closed businesses i think the ...

Re: Anyone else looking for a market pattern?
“Reversion to the Mean” is a pretty consistent pattern. Before COVID-19, indices were WAY above their 50, 100 & 200 day averages, so which way would math tell you they would trend? On Friday, the indices shot way beneath all of them, so, again...

Re: Retirement in sight
We looked at Beaufort, Charleston & Wilmington, but chose St. Augustine and are thrilled with it. The gulf stream helped us make the decision. It heads east off of northern Florida and heads straight for the Carolinas, providing a highway for hurricanes. 'Nuff said!

Re: FY2020 Budget
Billionaire: In this same thread you have written about high 3/high 5 and final 3/final 5. These are not the same for everyone, e.g. temporary promotions and downgrades can make an earlier average higher than a final average. Any idea which is truth? Thanks!

Re: IFT to the I is processing early by a day
But, it's virtually impossible not to see the following note right below where you enter your IFT request: "* FantasyTSP™ interfund transfer requests must be made before 12:15 PM EST in order to take affect at the funds closing price of the day they are made. When making official TSP interfund ...

Re: Investment Choices Close to Retirement
I've been retired under FERS for just over two years. I think a very important factor is the extent to which your TSP account contains the amount of money you need (don't forget, at least 20% of it goes back to Uncle when you pull it out). In my case, I have more than I need, so there's no need to g...

Re: Contribution question for partial pay period
Welcome, quidam65! Most retirement advisors will suggest that you retire at the end of a pay period because they don't pro-rate, they truncate. If you want to get the most out of the system, perhaps consider retiring at the end of the last pay period of the year, which usually ends in January, so yo...

Re: S Fund too expensive???
Putting it in beach bum terms, there's a gap in trading between 4:00 p.m. and 9:30 a.m., Florida time. But, a lot can happen during those hours, e.g. China trade data. So, during those off hours, traders place their orders so they can buy or sell when the market opens at 9:30. Thus, you'll see anoth...

Re: Retirement from the Military
With the new withdrawal rules coming, the only negative left with TSP is the IFT rules, which you say you’re ok with. There are MANY upsides, especially the low cost and the G fund, which you can’t Get anywhere else. Stay for life.

Re: HELP!
Doesn't sound like TSP Center is blocking a particular IP, but rather a particular domain name server. If that's the case, snap will be stuck until she either changes ISPs or her ISP changes their DNS.
