Re: Seasonal Musings 2019
I'd say it's an individual choice. Personally, if I had a nice gain by mid-month, I would strongly consider a move to G to capture that gain. Ive been sticking to my strategy regardless of market fluctuations this season. I was ahead of C and S by as much as 4 percent before the summer. Then the st...

Stick to your plan and ignore the tweets, the best investors ignore the noise and look at the data.

Thank you for the update! Not a bad year so far all around! I'm having a phenomenal year so far with a slight offshoot of gclappers mix.

Re: Anyone else looking for a TOP right now?
Getting out this afternoon. I'll take my 20% on the year. Any idea if King is going to retroactively fix the transfers that were missed during the outage? I looked at your fantasy TSP (dunno if it reflects your actual). Why would you be getting out now, happy with 20%, when you're still down going ...

Re: Kudos to Kcoodey (and rgoodin66)
Very nice! I'm still in the C fund 100% with my personal account (according to strategy #25727, a monthly strategy). It's up a handsome 18.03% and beating buy and hold by just under 4.25%!

Re: My thoughts on the TSPCalc Daily Strategies going forwar
I follow #25727 (a monthly seasonal) and have been for the last year with my personal account. It's beating buy and hold this calendar year by almost 2.53%!

Re: Seasonal Musings 2019
Interesting nugget I found today when checking my TSP. The monthly seasonal strategy I follow with my personal account (see signature) is up 18.38% which would be leading the member returns here on this website (if these are up to date). Anyways, stuck to the strategy during the huge dip last year. ...

Re: FY2020 Budget
Good Morning All, FY2020-2025: Increase to employee pension by 1% each year through 2025, roughly 77$ a year increase. Reduction from the government side. This is a big negative from me. I might be wrong, but weren't these contributions going to be 1% a year for folks who were contributing the lowe...

Re: lost over 5% in gains because of ....
This is why I don't bother keeping contribution and transfer funds separate. I'm already a monthly oriented trader with a seasonal strategy so to me the slight gains aren't worth a potential slip or the hassle to try to time the market and roll funds on the sidelines over.
Good luck, lesson learned.

Re: Buy and Hold.....Nah!
If bernie were to ever win the election, the G fund would be a home for 4 years. I'd bet against that, and it wouldn't be for political reasons, it'd be for common sense reasons. The white house doesn't have as much as an influence on the market as we like to think it does to satisfy whatever polit...

Re: Not Choosing Roth Can Cost You Thousands
I forgot to mention another observation which has to do with our progressive tax structure. Under traditional, every income I defer comes from my highest tax bracket. Assuming no other income, when I pull from TSP in retirement, the amount I draw starts from the lowest tax bracket. This is a great ...
