Re: Nothing inspires confidence....
Yeah, I think we are headed down. Nothing really goes straight up or down though. The market doesn't seem overly impressed by the fed inflating the bubble as of late. So many bubbles floating at once, three I can think of. Inflation is happening, and of course hyperinflation is something that the Fe...

Re: The Why Behind the Numbers
I like to look at what is happening. Strategies are for a normal free market, which we no longer have. The 10 year yield will continue to increase as does inflation. When the debt market implodes, so will the stock market. The Federal Reserve can only postpone the inevitable, and by doing so, make i...

Not going anywhere. The S fund had a 32% return last year even with the massive correction.

Re: Question regarding FEHB / Tricare
I agree about having more coverage as you age. I am under the VA, BCBS, and Medicare Part A and B. I have the reimbursement for BCBS because Medicare is primary now. My costs are over $200K a year to stay alive so one never knows. 2020 was a great year for me that I did not stay overnight in a hospi...

Re: S fund
It seems like it has been traditional that the traders sell before the Fed speaks as a little motivator, it's not unthinkable that AI would pick up on that. They are going to dump more debt into the market probably for now. Keep an eye on real inflation, the market could crash up. Typically, that co...

Re: Calculator
When you retire it doesn't work very well. I need a calculator that won't factor the raise, or match.

Re: TSP loan or Margin Loan
So let me get this straight, you want to take out cash on your retirement, so you can go gamble..... or you want to borrow on a credit card to do it? Hey, you only live once right. Cat food is delicious, at least that Fancy Feast Pate..my cats love it. I would rather my dollar be worthless, than owe...

I for one like looking at last years leaders. It's aspirational.

Re: Holy cow!
As long as the Fed is pouring fuel on the fire, it makes no sense to get out and get a nothing return. Even if you where in a coma for all of 2020, and was 100% in the S fund. You still had a great return.

Re: Stocks:Gold 3 Sisters
Love that cartoon. Years ago when I worked for a phone company we had access to Dilbert, until things at work started showing up in Dilbert. Management was a bit sensitive about that. I guess as long as the FED buys all the debt the market will continue to move in the opposite direction of the actua...

Re: Nervous....
I decided to get back in because of a few reasons. 1. The debt being pumped in is at insane levels, so the economy's condition is not currently relevant. 2. The value of the dollar has been dropping. The TSP does not have Gold, Silver, or Bit Coin. 3. Most treasuries are junk bonds these days. G fun...
