Re: Unsustainable per GAO
An FYI, it took 12 calendar days from time I requested Rollover withdrawl from TSP before funds arrived at Fidelity. Funds were shown withdrawn from my TSP next day following request. Seems like they take their sweet time sending it, and was only going to Ohio. At least transaction is complete.

Re: Unsustainable per GAO
I considered keeping some of my funds in TSP G Fund. It's an excellent choice for most people. Currently many money market funds are also paying around 5% to park your funds, and I can move in and out whenever I want. I am a more active trader and still prefer to invest on the agggresive side even a...

Re: Unsustainable per GAO
Scarfinger, I had previously opened a joint Fidelity brokerage account around 30 years ago with my wife. About 5 years later we each opened a Roth account with Fidelity. We both had Retirement savings plans through our employers matching 401k type plans. She was a state employee. I did not have any ...

Re: Unsustainable per GAO
I pulled the lever and rolled my tsp over to my Fidelity Rollover IRA as I stated I would earlier in this thread a couple weeks ago. I have no regrets of investing in TSP throughout my working career, I ended up with far higher balance than I ever imagined I would attain. Now that I'm retired and ab...

Re: Stay Calm Index
Stay Calm Index is not looking very calm. Looks like it's falling down a hill.
Thanks for the charts and humor Tom.

Re: Unsustainable per GAO
When I posted this thread, My intent was to point out no matter what's coming out of media and Washington about how great the economy is coming back, inflation is getting under control, soft landings, and beating back chance of a recession, the GAO report I included link to, did not paint any such r...

Unsustainable per GAO
GAO paints a rather bleak future for US if things don't change. I'm still hopeful some non political folks with real economics common sense step up and take away Congress Credit Card to get this mess under some meaningful control. Appears very few people ever see these reports, and even less care. h...

Thanks MJ for your work keeping both sites going for us. I'm fine with paying $10/yr. for access.
Aitrus, thanks for your work here as well.

Sludg, I can tell you G fund Moves 0.01%/calendar day. That's why you see it up 0.03 every Monday, and 0.01 other weekdays.

Re: Stay Calm Index
Great comparison Tommy. It's like having outrageously high fuel oil prices in New England which most people use for heating their homes unless you live in a large city that has natural gas. That's forced many to return to burning wood for half the price. It's really not as bad when it's compared to ...

Re: Rate of Return
For most of us who are already retired it's definately not been a nice market this year, and not being able to add more funds to offset the drops makes it painful. Something to be prepared for and think about before retiring, the market doesn't always go up each year.
Let's go Brandon.

I made an IFT 11-10 from G to C
Fantasy shows my last IFT was to C but the graph shows I'm still in G.
Thanks

Re: Stay Calm Index
The current markets remind me of a time when I was a young man in my early 20s. Very similar economy but even worse this time in many ways. Recommend a review of history what markets in America were like during the mid to late 70s. Relating to markets, not politics. https://www.factsarefirst.com/com...
