Re: Are you sticking to your strategy?
I think you have to understand a black swan when you see it. In this case the pandemic + the oil wars = no strategy could have foreseen these problems. I'm in G, but I'm waiting for a comfortable low to rejoin, my strategy.

Re: Universal Health Care
78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Hundreds of thousands of workers have no sick leave. You think they will stay home when they get symptoms of this virus? No way. They cannot. Have to fight tooth and nail to keep the wolf from the door. This is the reality of how fast this virus will spre...

Re: Dead Cat Bounce
I'll chime in.. I'm not Aitrus so sorry for that. Rough math tells me that with current death rates it's about 10 times as deadly as the flu. If it matches the historical reach of flu globally then it could be over a million dead globally. The flu ranges from 200-600k deaths per year globally. Ther...

Re: Dead Cat Bounce
From a seasonal (combined with my research) approach, we shouldn't have to wait until the middle of March for the market to go down again. We'll see though, since anything could happen, any time.

Re: Why no fund that exactly mirrors the Dow?
The Dow is almost up 4.77, however, the S fund seems to be a mix of nasdaq and russ2k and is only up 2.77. The C fund (SPY ticker) seems dead on with S&P. So I guess my question is why don’t we have a mirror for the Dow? The lay person may hear Dow up five percent later and then wonder why they...

Re: The Reality of Becoming a TSP Millionaire
So you want to be TSP millionaire? I ain't easy folks, here's the reality of how it works when you're getting close and the consequences of the decisions we make. On Thursday 2/20 my balance was $999,950 after the all time high S&P close on Wednesday 2/19, and at that time I was 100% C fund. Ea...

Re: Panic buying
Aitrus and TLuke are spot on. Family members should always be prepared for water, food, protection, shelter, etc, shortages at all times. I'm more worried about hurricanes and snowstorms and the havoc they can cause on society for a few weeks. I've been around FL and have plenty of family in FL sin...

Say no to April showers...yes to gold showers???
https://seekingalpha.com/article/4325543-repo-and-man-april-showers Someone mentioned in the forum that April would be the end of the Fed's repo actions. I had understood that they would continue through June (of which I posted an article), but it looks like they will probably end it in April after ...

cswift01, Don't worry, your HSA isn't going to go away. SnareMV17, The article states that it would apply to household earning up t $200K so that excludes the really rich. I don't think it is that difficult to explain the difference between traditional and Roth IRAs but the rules for TSP and 401K a...
