Google Finance shows a monthly dividend near the the first of each month (graph at 6 months view shows nicely). I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but I'm wondering if holding F through the payout date is an advantage or if the TSP just averages the dividend in to each account.

Re: What is the market going to do?
For what it's worth, one writer in the WSJ thinks a drop of 5% below what we are getting today.
See https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-far-ca ... 34?tesla=y
It's one of the few non-pay articles and was on the front page until the Special Counsel story broke.

Re: Leave I-Fund Early?
Yesterday Cramer on Mad Money was all over lurking to see if there is a sell-off in Europe then POUNCING ON US EQUITIES. I'm not a trader and aware that TSP is not trading platform but the strategy does sound like fun.

Re: Post-Trump Rally Rotation??
Thanks Tomyanyiron for posting the comparison chart. I have not figured out how to paste in a chart from Google finance or from this sit itself, but what I'm seeing is C vs F funds since March 15 are nice mirror images which sent me looking for talk of stock rotation to bonds. Cramer on Mad Money ha...

Post-Trump Rally Rotation??
I haven't found news mentions of a post-Trump rally rotation from stocks into bonds but if you chart the F fund against the C fund since March 15 it sure looks like the C fund money is going into F. I did find this on the CNN Fear And Greed site this morning. "Bonds have outperformed stocks by ...

Re: This Is Why Most TSP Members Lose Money
I like the idea of keeping it real by comparing to the past year stock market results. One issue is that you state "Over time we have found the majority of investors (TSP members included) lose money in the stock market." It's shocking if true so I looked but I didn't see any citation for ...

Re: So..... the Euro.... uhhh?
Are you thinking about buying real Euro then Dollars instead of a fund? If you can think of something to base a fund on there probably already are ETFs that you can buy shares in. Just Google "ETF Euro vs Dollar" you will get lots of hits.

Thanks Tommy, This is good medicine. I was feeling left out of a rally but the chart worked like smelling salts to bring me to my senses. Now when they start the recession and correction talk again I'll be ready to pounce again.

"In light of this Chart, for the individual who typically follows the Seasonal Strategy and move to C Fund in March, should they reconsider?"
Good point. I think I'll wait a bit especially if the keep using the R-word (recession) on Mad Money and Bloomberg TV.

Re: Big Decision
Does pump and dump have anything to do with owning oil companies in the falling price situation that we are seeing? Check out the Cramer remix on any of the various outlets that carry him. It occurs to me that buying the S fund now is like saying you want to own small oil company stocks right now. N...

You need to check out the info on soc sec site. Basically if you earn more than about 15 k thay will reduce your benefit $1 for each $2 you earn unless you are at full retirement age Which is about 66 years and a few months.

Re: 529 plans?
Maryland has two kinds of plans.
Prepaid which is the kind Aitrus described.
And a set of investment plans.
Both have a bit of Maryland State tax deductions so are most useful for Maryland resdents.
Check your own State system first.
