Re: Free Speech
Arrie, I can't believe you missed it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PSYPrE5LrQ I see, so he was protested and it turned violent on Feb 1'st, 2017. Is it because he was conservative or openly said "And I think particularly in the gay world, and outside the Catholic Church — if that's where s...

Re: Free Speech
Your're right Arrie, I should have picked my words better. Peaceful protest are great, They don't stay peaceful much, seems like. You get a crowd together and they're mad about something. Before you know it the mob mentality starts to take over. I think the well organized ones, like back in the day...

Re: Free Speech
So what do you have to say about college protest and even rioting when conservatives came to talk? Do you condemn that, if so we can agree on something. :) Free speech belongs to everyone, but the spoil brats of the academy think they decide who is allowed and who is not. There is something wrong w...

Re: Word of the Day (Political)
Kakistocracy A kakistocracy ([kækɪ'stɑkrəsi]) is a system of government that is run by the worst, least qualified, and/or most unscrupulous citizens. The word was coined as early as the seventeenth century, but gained significant use in the first decades of the 20th century to criticize populist go...

Re: Buying stocks
I feel like posts like these mark a strong top in the market... Lol, that's what an 11-year bull market will do. I wouldn't make major investing moves until the volatility dies down a bit. Who knows what's going to happen next. We don't have an 11 year old bull market. It officially ended when it c...

Re: Someone please explain
It's a market, not the country. I don't want to confound patriotism into financial planning. If current valuation is above my estimation of intrinsic value... I don't either. Why do you think there is an intrinsic value? Where does that come from? It comes from belief that the past is not over and ...

Re: Someone please explain
The market is manipulated. Simple as that. Or, and this maybe crazy but stay with me, the market is future looking. While you're only seeing today thee market is looking 6 months outs. People should remember that the market bottom during the great depression happened the day the US won the Battle o...

Re: am i the only one who thinks that this oil price war....
I can understand the natural rivalry between the first 2--but if i were them--the biggest threat is the new guy coming in with a paradigm shift product that will put both of the old geezers out of business lickety split. US Oil producers are no threat. They can't compete on price. If I can make a w...

Re: am i the only one who thinks that this oil price war....
Well, a couple of things. It isn't a shame war and they still both want to crush US oil producers. Russia needs cash and it can get cash by producing more oil. Saudi Arabia wants to crush US oil producers but it doesn't want to a massive oil glut thereby causing a complete crash in oil prices. Most ...

You're not the only one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu_VqX6J93k Like this link! It is like a Cliff Notes book for the Fed Govt cartel. Yeah, conspiracy theories of how the Fed is just a scam to enrich themselves. Only problem is they forgot to include a way to make themselves rich. The theorie...

Re: Just another musing...
A bank would like to lend every dollar it doesn't have to hold in reserve. ... The Fed buys Treasurys and other securities from banks and replaces them with credit. All central banks have this unique ability to create credit out of thin air. That's just like printing money. Nope. Our central bank c...

Re: Just another musing...
i think greengrass or scorpio mentioned here that the treasury can "print" more dollars to pay for anything it desires. there is no upper limit to this method. Nope. The treasury can't "print" money without authority from Congress. That's why we have debt. Congress controls the ...

Re: Dead Cat Bounce
As for funding, there is plenty available via taxes, it's just being misspent on things that aren't necessary nor strictly Constitutionally authorized. What's not strictly "Constitutionally authorized"? This I would love to see what you say. Especially since I'll compare it to the Constit...
