2010 FantasyTSP Housekeeping

Post by TSPking »

We have 1,778 members with FantasyTSP enabled. Probably 500 of them belong to members who haven't logged in or visited the site in over a year.

This is a problem we deal with at the end of each year by disabling FantasyTSP for those members who haven't logged in during the past 12 months. We will be doing this on 12/31/10.

Just a FYI.

Perhaps you should change the game rules so players get removed if they have not logged in in the last 90 days. Besides making your housekeeping less tedious it would better present the positions of the active players on the Leader Board. If a player could not visit the site for 90 days it might be possible for them to write you a note requesting reinstatement (all POWs immediately approved) and you put them back in position where they would have been if not removed. And for those without a reason, why they could just start again with a hundred thousand and join the fracas. Make sense?

The Leader Board (plus top 5 listing throughout site) only shows members who have logged in within the last 30 days. It is updated in real-time so if a MIA member does happen to login again, they will reappear on the Leader Board automatically.

The way you have it now is fine, TSPKing. It is, however, annoying to be beaten soundly by dormant accounts that haven't logged in a year! An argument to incompetents like me to use buy and hold.

That argument is directed at me as well. However, anyone on the Leader Board using buy and hold have logged in within the last 30 days...

Question.......Do we have to reset out accounts in the New Year, of can we go with it as is?

No one has to reset. The YTD Leader Board tracks calendar year only. So when the new year starts, the YTD Leader Board will begin tracking from 12/31/2010
