Matt's TSP Blog

Post by TSPking »

Many of you may remember Matt's TSP Blog and the impressive returns he has demonstrated in the past. He's back in action and has partnered with TSP Center.

He will be tracking his returns with FantasyTSP (tspblog) as well as posting comments and IFT's through his Twitter account: http://twitter.com/matt_tspblog.

Hello, I look forward to working with the site and getting it out to a larger audience. I will not be doing hardly any blogging, just watch for those Interfund Transfers to hit ;-) Take care everyone and I will chat later on in the not to distant future.

I don't know if you guys were watching his blogs a year ago. His blogs became inaccessible right before and after the market dipped in Oct. 2008 and not showing his overall returns. He only shows his returns when he's riding high. You hold this man's in high regard. Good luck.

I was reading his blog and remember it disappearing. But, it wasn't a paid service so I looked at it as I was glad to have it as a resource when it was available. We'll see how he does this year.

BTW, nice 09 returns raym0826

what is this?

Post by mkw52 »

well, it appears to me that matt's tsp blog has just been another layer to go through....i don't twitter my family often enough, why would i twitter matt? i'm a little old school, and don't appreciate my normal log-in being hijacked to matt's tsp....hoping there is a logical explanation for that, but, hmm....have not seen where matt has offered a lot to people not on twitter...is this a blog, or an advertisment? could someone please explain matt, and why i can no longer get tsp blog without going through his site?

mkw52,

Matt's TSP Blog is another resource for TSP investors. If you are seeing the Matt's TSP Blog page by default when visiting this site, then it sounds like you are using the http://tspblog.com url (or have this url saved in your favorites). Instead, you should be using http://tspcenter.com which will take you directly to the TSP Center home page.

Any resource in this market

is helpful. One thing I noted was his achieving high status in his account in such short order. Kudos, of course. However perhaps some of us older players might have outshone his star if we had "reset" out fantasy game on March 10, 2009. That, of course is one of the fascinating things about electronic games-- you can die, but then you get many more chances to figure out the game maker's basic pattern. As an interesting "free time" activity, I wonder how things would stack up if TSP King took the top 10 accounts and "reset" them post March 9th and see if they exceed the account balance of one who has so far been in the F and the G Fund? That said, egos aside, I believe Matt could very quickly move up our food chain and become very important in all of us successfully making money. He has the talent and the experience, just a question of time availablity and selection. I checked out his stock pick. Interesting. Personally I hope he makes a million dollars because I'll be along for as much as I can get as well.

I haven't seen much benefit from Matt's Blog

Post by McLovin »

as of yet but I'm hopeful. So far seems to be a self promotion. Who in their right mind would
make a contribution. After all how hard was it to be in the F or g account and move into the
Monthly Top 20 (not the yearly top 20). An account could have started 1 Oct and sat idley by
and achieved similar results. Remember this is only a neutral opinion; not emotionally charged
rant. Emotions do not belong in investing. I hope we (including Matt) all succeed. : )

Good Luck to all.

Top 20 ????

Post by jeffvan1 »

From the Blog:

(Oct 31 2009) First month on TSP Center and already in the Top 20! Should be in the Top 10 in November. Click on my website link to watch me in action.

Can't figure this out. There is no monthly top 20!!!!

I believe that post was in reference to the monthly returns for October, the default view showing the top 20: http://tspcenter.com/listTop.php?mode=October

This fantasy game seems

Post by crondanet5 »

to be like playing poker or attempting to beat the market. We lose over time. But as new members join, without any history of low-yielding IFT results in their account we "older" types look bad compared to the newbies. I don't have an answer as to how to balance things. But I'm wondering if several different groupings based on time in the game might help identify the better IFT moves and how they've affected player's results. Or maybe some kind of handicap? Golfers step in here please.

And you know,

Post by crondanet5 »

this kind of harks back to the question should all player account balances be reset January 1 so everyone has a new chance to get "trophied"?
