I get the following message when trying to enter IFT for tomorrow: Time is up to submit interfund transfer for COB today. Press OK to return to Account Summary.

How long does this last or when can I enter IFT?

Scared of the major funds, so breaking ranks a little and decided to 50 / 50 split. F / S. We will see how that works out, I was going to stay in F till mid feb, but decided to take a little risk early in hopes it pays off.

Good Luck Nova! Sounds like quite a few people are nervous these days.

I'd be curious how that works out for you. Most days they go opposite directions and therefore cancel out each other so I'd think you'd only make money when S outperforms F. Just my observations over the years. Anyone else see something different?

Builder,
I wouldn't say they cancel out. The average % difference is tremendous, big league. Kidding aside, it helps mitigate losses during huge market swing while reducing gain by less than 1/4 average. Anyhow, you can always move out or ride losses if you are in ICS, but with a mix in ones portfolio blood pressure tend to do better when hell break lose.

I thought I would ask before I wind up with big fees. My question is do we get charged for each IFT we make? If so, would they be included with annual fees? I haven't noticed on my statements. Not even sure where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IFTs are free to you. The costs of doing business are built into the share prices periodically. Someone who makes 1 IFT in 10 years will pay the same "fees" as someone who does 2 IFTs a month. It won't ever be itemized because they just adjust the share price by like 0.003%.

Thank you so much for your detailed explanation, mjedlin66. One less thing to worry about. I received very little information with my inherited TSP account. So I am learning as I go. Very thankful to have found this site – the best by far.
