What's with all the movement to the C Fund?
Almost 200 people moving to the C Fund so far today. I started to check the profiles of those that started the trend and it looks like a lot of them are new accounts and don't have any history. What's going on? Something doesn't seem right.

Could it be a big bet on the Senate passing the Health Care Bill?
Re: What's with all the movement to the C Fund?
Several seasonal models predict C as the best fund for the month of July.

Shhh, nothing to talk about here, just keep moving along.

I am guessing the Seasonal to C for July is just taking place early for some. I am standing in F till tomorrow normally would not move to C till the 30th, but going on vacation and will not be thinking of making the transfer, so I will do it 2 days early hopefully a good move, but who knows wont think about it till I return and see how it turned out.

Does look odd, surely it couldn't be Manipulation...

July also has a decent Turn-of-the-Month effect so jumping in a few days early would be appropriate if you follow this strategy.

It's completely seasonal. Just starting a little too early in my opinion.

I agree Lafrinere - those are seasonal moves to the C that are a little too early....
I'm going to the follow the seasonal to C too....but after seeing the market fall when the govt announced the delay in the Health Care vote this afternoon, I'm going to bet it will fall further for a least a couple of more days..... But hey, buying in lower is the way to do it...

So... delaying the demise of 23million people is a BAD THING?? What's wrong with this world???

Glancing at the member profiles making these allocations, most of them are very recent. It makes me wonder if a single person or bot is behind this apparent flood of new members. Strange would be that kind of thing, or else this website is having a new member surge like no other in my memory, with dozens of them thinking exactly the same about where to park their TSP funds. Either way it seems odd to me too.
Anyone who is interested enough and able to sort through the member list and generate a histogram or plot of # of members over time, I'll throw you some reputation points.

I saw it too and that was not a normal move. There were even more the following day. With all the above said, I agree with there being something amiss!!
