Can’t IFT to C Fund today?

So I went to put in my IFT to C Fund tonight for Monday, but it said I already used two IFTS this month. I am following daily seasonal strategy #7980 and I started the month in G Fund after doing an IFT on Friday, September 29. It shows me in the G Fund as of the 2nd of october though and seems to be counting that as an IFT for October instead of the 3rd move in September. So now I can’t make my C Fund move tonight. Any way to fix this?

Looks like your Sep 29 IFT was after noon eastern, which makes it an Oct 2 IFT. No way to fix really fix it. Pick another day to move to S. One day isn't going to make much difference.

That doesn’t make sense though because it shows me as being in the Fund as of Monday the 2nd. I couldn’t have been in the Fund Monday without having made the IFT before noon on Friday, right?

If your IFT was after noon, it gets put through at the close of the next trading day, in this case, Monday the second.

Is that really what it says though? It has me i the Fund on the first trading day of the month. How could that happen if I didn’t make the IFT before noon on Friday?

After noon on Friday = before noon on Monday. I don't know how to say it any more clearly.

It has you in the fund as of close of business on Monday. You were not in the new fund all day Monday. You bought in at COB and COB prices.

The tspcalc.com strategies are all built on the premise of inputting your IFT before noon on the day indicated.

Log into your online TSP account. Click on "Recent Transactions" It will show you Transactions since 10/01/2017. If you click on the date, it will show how they calculated your IFT Before & After. You should have gotten an email from TSP, which states in part "If you believe your request was not processed correctly, contact the TSP within 30 days. Errors reported after that time cannot be corrected." Contacting them is most likely useless unless you have proof that the transaction was made prior to 12:00 EST. If it was made at 12:00 or 12:01 you are out of luck but it never hurts to ask.

You could always call the TSP and make an inquiry too.

OP please let us know what you find out. I would really like to know if this is standard TSP behavior or a mistake, don't think their material specifies.

I had this happen to me once before, too. However, at the time I took it to mean TSP counts your transfers that way. I can't remember if I contacted them or not now, as I have contacted them with transfer issues before.
