On Friday the Strength of the S fund went negative. It has not been in the negative since August.
The I fund had a good day, and as what happens most often, that international component of large caps helped the C fund. The F fund had one of it’s best days in a long time.

The S fund is losing it's steam. Hopefully will pick up again this week!

The F fund broke its up-trend slightly, as the C fund appears to be starting one. The S fund added another down-day to its trend.

Something you don’t see much with “Strength” of the C and S funds, they have been dividing since Oct 10. I can’t imagine that disconnect between the two funds to last much longer.

The I fund is bouncing up and down, but to its credit, has stayed on the positive side.

On the Strength Chart, it looks like everything is stair-stepping down. Except for the C fund, and it only climbed one point.

On the Mood Chart, the C fund’s price gained some but the Mood line went down. Mostly due to the VIX’s higher close. The volatility (some think of as nervous agitation) index has stayed mostly under 10 for over a month, but it closed at 10.31 Tuesday.

A better day for everything except bonds. The S fund is trying to make a comeback, but strength-wise, it’s still the lowest man on the totem pole.

For several days now the Mood line has been zigzagging alone the 4 line, while the C fund price continues up. What meaning do I get from that? There’s no denial that the bull market in large cap stocks is still very much intact, however enthusiasm is softening.

The Strength chart did not change much, except more down-side for the S and I funds. C fund is flat, and a little bump for the F fund.

The F and I funds were the big losers on Friday and the C fund took advantage. The S fund also used some to become less negative.

C fund Mood made a big jump and is within a hair of where it was on Oct 5th.

All Funds are in the negative, which is the first time since I started this. Mood made its biggest dip since Labor Day.

So...what does that mean? Well, I’ll add one more thing. CNN’s Fear/Greed index, the Index was up to 95 on October 5. That type of readings normally would be a strong sell signal. And there was a small 2-day dip. However the market rebounded, and on Friday (Oct 20) there were new highs, and the F/G was at 90. After yesterday’s losses it has backed off to 85. Still that would have been of concern in the past. But this year has been different, and the old rulebook got throw away, (maybe for a little while).
What I’m saying is that, these things normally mean a down-turn is imminent, but who knows.
