Wow, all that positive thinking put a fire under that S fund.
mo meng, mo ching (which loosely means: no money, no life)

Now that's more like it!!
Nobody knows what the market is going to do in the future. Stop asking. Just shut up and follow strategy #72033 to glory.
Re: The S fund is on fire!
Now that tax reform is all but signed, i’m Optimistic about the S fund finishing the year strong. Could we see it catch up to the I and C funds for yearly gains over the next 2 weeks?

I sure hope so. I'm 100% in S for this month and I'm not happy so far.Octjan2 wrote:Now that tax reform is all but signed, i’m Optimistic about the S fund finishing the year strong. Could we see it catch up to the I and C funds for yearly gains over the next 2 weeks?
Re: The S fund is on fire!
I'm glad the S fund finished strong today. I already put the interfund transfer request in for Monday. Moving to the I fund.
Re: The S fund is on fire!
I have heard multiple commentators say that the tax bill benefits companies in the Russell 2000 (S Fund) more than the larger companies and they are looking for a 5% move to the upside for that index. This is where I don’t follow a strategy when real world events are contrary to a pre ious pattern.
Re: The S fund is on fire!
I read awhile ago that the S fund had already built in quite a lot expecting the tax bill to pass, so when it did pass there wouldn't be a huge jump-but if it didn't pass, there would be a sharp drop as all that already built in would have to come back out. We will just have to wait and see what happens.

It's great all around, except in F.

Just my opinion, I think that is true. Some experts are saying sell on the news as far as taxes go. If you look at the daily strategies, some are in S now, some in I. But last week of the month they are all in I and in January they are Not in S, C or I.seabass wrote:I read awhile ago that the S fund had already built in quite a lot expecting the tax bill to pass, so when it did pass there wouldn't be a huge jump-but if it didn't pass, there would be a sharp drop as all that already built in would have to come back out. I'm 50/50 now S I. Will probably go 100% I at some point and be all out in beginning of Jan.

Sounds like a reasonable plan Snapdragon. Not sure how the US Market will do with tax plan or CRA expiring again on Friday, again! I think it is a good time to be in the I fund. I'm a little hesitant with the S Fund with only 10% of my account.
