I only have 5% of my account in F fund, but I’m waiting till I recover all of my gains. Then I’ll close the door on F forever.

According to Aitrus’s seasonal musings for Jul 18 F Fund may have a favorable month. Hope so because once I leave the F Fund ....... no more, lock the door and throw away the key.

It used to be that bonds would rise when stocks dropped. However, because of all the easy monetary policy over the last 9 years the market rises and drops with bonds. It’s not the natural order of things. With that being said, why invest in the F fund in this environment? If you are making a gain in the F of .2%, the C and S probably made .6%. Yes , if they both drop, you will lose less in the F, but you are investing in the fund betting bond prices will go up. Because of the distortions created over the years this will crash hard someday.

It’s a personal goal, I don’t want any losses. Even if I know I could make up the losses in C, S or even G, I don’t want ANY losses in the record books. I made my goal so I will never IFT to F again.
