The king of Seasonal is Aitrus and he has a great thread found at: Seasonal Musings 2016 Thread: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=12089 Follow that and you will see 8-10 seasonal mixes he charts.
Re: another newbie request.
Thanks for the kind words, Mad Max.
n.shift,
The best seasonal mix I've found so far if you don't want to use the I Fund is Jahbulon's Mix (averages 16.81% since 1988). It has the most reliable returns from all the ones I'm following. If you want to use the I Fund, you have a couple of choices. Timboslice's is one of them (averages 16.2% since 1988), but Boltman's Mix and gclapper's M3 Mix are also good performers.

As MM said, I post regular updates on the few Mixes I talk about on my thread, but I track a total of about 20 or so. Most are poor performing variants of the main ones I talk about. If you want a copy of the excel workbook I use to track all this data, I offer it freely for anybody who wants it. A bunch of people have already received it. I also encourage you to read the thread in my signature from the beginning if you're interested in seasonal investing. It's not a good investment method for everybody (as cron and ArrieS will readily attest), but it makes sense for a number of people.
I'll be starting a new thread for 2017 here in a few weeks as the new year turns over.

Re: another newbie request.
It appears Clapper has better track record than Boltman--wondering how you select which ones you include in your seasonal musings?
Re: another newbie request.
aitrus I read through your entire thread x2 on seasonal musing. That was a lot of information especially when you read the amount of info I have read in last 3 days. I want to be 1 million % certain I have this right. So this is the most UPDATED Jahbulon’s Basic Seasonal Mix correct?

Re: another newbie request.
Yes, that's correct.
This year was a slight deviation on my personal part in July due to the Election year. But the core Jahbulon's Basic is just what you listed.
You read through the entire thing twice? Wow...you are really taking this thing seriously. Good for you, but be aware of burnout. We don't want you walking away due to information overload. Any questions about the method I talk about or anything else in the thread?

Re: another newbie request.
Timboslice currently in I fund
Re: another newbie request.
Yes, Timboslice is currently in the I Fund with his Fantasy account. The seasonal mix is a suggestion by tmj100 based on Timboslice's 2015 moves. Timbo himself didn't have anything to do with it other than making the moves that inspired tmj100 and telling me that it was ok for me to use his name (I already had another one named after tmj100, so I needed something else).

Re: another newbie request.
Right now I'm just soaking it all in. My many hrs of research landed me into 100% s fund. Think I'll stay parked here for rest of this month and maybe next month. Now all my free time and research is going to determine when and where my next move will go. I come a hair of going 100% in I find but I'm just not comfortable with that investment and may decide to stay clear of it altogether. I'm not trying to get rich. All I want is a decent retirement fund and only have 20 years to do it. I dread the day the stocks slide and I take my first loss. But I'll hang in there for sure. This is a exciting time in my life and would have never moved out of the g fund if I didn't find this forum. I never even expected a single person to response to my original post. All you people have been Great! Thank you all for the responses and private emails with advice, direction and your concerns. You all are awesome and I'm proud to be a part of this group. A special thanks to aitrus for his research and quick replies has been most helpful!
Re: another newbie request.
And actually I do have another question. If I make a allocation before noon, it takes affect the next business day correct? Does my current allocation still stand during that market day before the change takes affect? I'm not seeing any changes in my tsp account for todays market or my tsp fantasy account for today as well. its 7:16 eastern time where I am so is it just to early for changes to be made regarding todays stock prices?

Correct. If you submitted an IFT today before noon, your new allocation will be processed tonight and will be effective tomorrow. IFT's usually process very late at night from my experience. Sometimes I don't get a confirmation from the TSP until well after midnight.

I was wrong for 6 months so far. That's half the year!! Please don't make any deal out of what I do. I don't watch markets and look for anything. I have my own system and you guys need to create your own. I have at least 21 years to go before retirement and have the time to gamble because I can make it up if I lose. I'm not here to give advice about where to put your money or what I watch because I am definitely not an expert by means. All I know is that if you want to make money you sometimes have to gamble and put all your eggs in one basket. So, when I move to whatever fund it's 100%. My actual TSP mirrors this but a lot less money. I funnel everything to that fund. I don't play the percentage game with multiple funds nor do I play in the L funds which in my opinion are worthless. If you can't come up with a system just follow the big boys and what they do. I did that until I made my own system. I do think it's rather entertaining that I get talked about a lot on this forum.

Very generous of you to at least talk back on occasion! We're all trying to learn, and it's especially helpful to learn from the leaders directly than to try to guess what was in their head when they made their IFT. Just knowing what your time horizon is helps a lot!
