Yep, pretty much.
pak3chris, S or C is up to you, but most of the Mixes go to C. The date you move is also up to you, but I (and many others) find it easier to just make the move effective at close of business on the last trading day of the month. That way our returns match the pattern and we can more accurately assess how we're doing. That means that you'd need to submit your IFT by noon today in order for it to take effect this evening. Otherwise you're stuck waiting until Monday.
Welcome, SunsetBlvd and Thomas More. Hope you guys learn a lot from being here. Feel free to ask questions. There's lots of people who are smarter than me on this site.
Note: A "good" month for the F Fund is CAGR 0.5% or better, and PNR 70% or better. A "good" month for C, S and I Funds is CAGR 1% or better, and PNR 70% or better. See 2nd post in the thread for description of CAGR. PNR is the ratio of Positive Months to Negative Months.
General Funds G Fund: 0.2%, 0.78% Year to Date (YTD), PNR remains 100% Apr Total CAGR = 0.41% Apr 20 year CAGR = 0.31% Apr 10 year CAGR = 0.19% Apr 5 year CAGR = 0.16%
April is normally a decent month for the G Fund. This year’s return of 0.2% is tied for second highest since 2011 – Apr 2014 also had a 0.2% return. So far 2017 is on pace to match 2014’s return of 2.31% for the year. 2016’s return was 0.14%.
F Fund: 0.81%, 1.75% YTD Apr Total CAGR = 0.43%, PNR 67% Apr 20 year CAGR = 0.43%, PNR 70% Apr 10 year CAGR = 0.66%, PNR 80% Apr 5 year CAGR = 0.57%, PNR 80%
This April was a pretty good one for the F Fund. Not stellar, just above average. 2016’s return was 0.41%.
C Fund: 1.03%, 7.17% YTD Apr Total CAGR = 1.72%, PNR 77% Apr 20 year CAGR = 1.82%, PNR 75% Apr 10 year CAGR = 2.31%, PNR 90% Apr 5 year CAGR = 1.01%, PNR 100%
April is arguably the second best month of the year for the C Fund. This year saw a return that was under average. 2016’s return was 0.39%.
S Fund: 1.15%, 5.78% YTD Apr Total CAGR = 1.51%, PNR 70% Apr 20 year CAGR = 1.7%, PNR 65% Apr 10 year CAGR = 2.59%, PNR 70% Apr 5 year CAGR = -0.1%, PNR 60%
This month had a return that was a bit under average for the S Fund. 2016’s return was 1.73%.
I Fund: 2.62%, 10.16% YTD Apr Total CAGR = 2.52%, PNR 80% Apr 20 year CAGR = 2.67%, PNR 75% Apr 10 year CAGR = 3.42%, PNR 80% Apr 5 year CAGR = 3.08%, PNR 80%
April is hands-down the best month of the year for the I Fund, and this year was no different. This April’s return was average. 2016’s return was 1.89%
Currently Tracked Seasonal Strategies TSPCenter.com's Default Setting: C Fund in Apr (1.03%), 1.57% YTD Jahbulon's Basic Mix: C Fund in Apr (1.03%), 3.87% YTD (This is the one I follow with my personal TSP account) gclapper’s M3 Mix: I Fund in Apr (2.62%), 5.5% YTD tjm100’s Mix: I Fund in Apr (2.62%), 6.85% YTD Boltman's Mix: C Fund in Apr (2.02%), 2.02% YTD Sell in May and Go Away: C Fund in Apr (1.03%), 7.17% YTD G all year, S in Dec Mix: G Fund in Apr (0.2%), 0.78% YTD
Everybody had good gains this past month. The YTD counts are starting to spread out a little, with Sell in May leading the pack and tjm100 close behind. That said, I expect Sell in May to start losing ground over the next few months because it’s sitting in the G Fund from now until almost Columbus Day.

Welcome to the seasonal club, mate! Wish you best of luck, I haven't turned back since switching to seasonal 1.5 years ago. I love being able to invest without emotion. Aitrus has put in great work!

Come up with a strategy and just stick with it. Lots of mixes here to choose from.
Thanks, gonna try to top 10% this year.
Seasonal has a good track record of getting you to that number! Hope for the best.
