I have commented on a few of the other post and I have received some mixed responses, all good ones and very helpful so I appreciate everyones help.
However, I wanted to have a single post dedicated to the thoughts of how people approach the I fund. G, F, C and S are much easier to track.
So how does everyone track the I fund? Newbies to those doing it for some time now. Please share your thoughts as I seem to avoid investing in this fund because of not understanding it that well which is a mistake.

I use the Vanguard FTSE Developed Markets ETF. (ticker symbol: VEA)

The search function is pretty good...if you search for EFA you will see 469 posts on the forum. I Fund doesn't work as a search as it returns too many; you might want to search for "exchange rate" and see what you find rather than asking the question in different threads.

I was surprised by the negative I fund result yesterday. I know there has been a lot of different threads written about this. Any insights as to why it dipped yesterday? Thanks.

I woke up thinking the same. Everything I use to track the I fund (the best I can) were all in the green yesterday by a good margin >0.15%. I have gotten to the point that I no longer feel comfortable using the I fund simply because I have no idea what actually tracks (even somewhat closely).

I have seen the other threads on this subject and it is just too complex to get a good tracking method. There are too many variables involved. My advice is if anyone wants to incorporate the I-Fund into their TSP portfolio then they might be well served by using it as a part of a seasonal strategy. Several of the popular seasonal mixes use the I-Fund with good PNRs. Other than that, I'm sure we'll be talking about this many more times in the future.
