C or I for April

Post by bad70nova »

While March was a bust for the S fund, moving to C or I In April to follow the season, trying to decide where to move. Looking at actually splitting between C and S. Really liking the F Fund right now for little gains over the next month or so, but not enough to cover the losses so far. Just throwing so mumbo jumbo out there for myself to ponder on.

I'm literally in the same boat.

I've been throwing money in the C, S and I Funds since December. I'm thinking of moving everything from the S into the F (as its cheaper now) and leaving the others in the C and I. Then, new purchases would primarily go into the S Fund. In May it'll probably be a combination of the C and S Funds, although I'm not sure of that right now. That way, I'm getting ready for my June run from equities into F.

I'm still throwing ideas around.

Best,

Me

I'm looking to possibly go back 100% I in April. I probably should've just stayed there as I'd be further ahead than trying to go seasonal C Fund.
I'm just making this up as I go along.

April will be an extraordinary month for the S and C funds! Why?? Because I'll be in the I fund! Cheers!

I feel the same way. My new seasonal told me to be in S this month and my balance has taken a hit. However, I'm going to stay the course and switch to I on Friday, which is where my seasonal has me for April.

Good luck to everyone!

Yeah, I have new contributions in C and I, but staying in S. I am a mule, and just going to be stubborn about it. I believe that once the market shows it's hand, it eventually goes back to that amount or higher. Of course, it took 6 years after the last crash. Those who stayed in were rewarded nicely.

Anyone who puts their money in the I fund is a traitor! MERICA!

Geesh, I hate being called a "traitor" - but historically, April looks like a darn good month for the I fund....
I'm going into the I fund for April - and switching my new contributions to the S.... S fund has had a pretty rough March - so I'm looking at that as an opportunity to "buy low"....

Based on the forecast for the Nikkei and FTSE, the I fund may also be in for a rough April. Or am I reading it incorrectly?

I consider the doom and gloom forecasts as entertainment at best. I prefer looking at the extended history which favors the I-Fund in April.
