Trump investigations affect on market.....
Regardless of political affiliations, does anyone have any thoughts on how this investigation in to Trump/Russia could affect the TSP funds? What was it like during the Nixon times for the market?

Be mindful, I stopped posting here because I got a bit annoyed. I said that the 2 candidates for the election in November were different and the pro-Trump crowd deducted a bunch of my reputation points. I know that reputation points don't mean anything in real life, but I got really bothered because I didn't feel like I could express myself (politely).
Have a great weekend.

Some Presidents are good for business, that does not mean they are good Presidents. The emotional aspect needs to be eliminated when considering investing.

Don't sweat it. My forum reputation went way up and then way down all in the matter of a couple of weeks. A lot of the changes were positive comments but negative scoring. Some of it was from people taking offense to things that weren't offensive. I stopped caring about "reputation points".

FYI Red is negative minus (-) Points, Green is positive plus (+) points & Gray is neutral no points.
I enjoyed your debate with Aitrus recently but it often better to avoid both Politics & Religion because someone will likely take offense. In looking at the comments, I don't understand why some posters even comment on some of the posts.
Re: Trump investigations affect on market.....
As to the OP, I am not sure how the investigations will affect the market. I think that Trump has established a new normal and the market got used to it. The only political turmoil that I think could shake the market would be impeachment, which is unlikely. I think it would take substantial evidence of collusion on the part of Trump personally to convict him of anything. I don't think that is likely to happen.
Case in point, the Comey dismissal has been wildly unpopular and has even a few Republicans raising their eyebrows. The market didn't react at all.

What exactly are they "investigating". According to the FBI, it's been going on for 10 months and not a shred of evidence pointing to any collusion. I believe Trump wants to do the right thing for investors. He seems to be on track so far. We need tax overhaul policy passed for the market to take off.

Can you point me to a statement or press release from the FBI saying there is no evidence of collusion?
Because I am only aware of two things-
1) The testimony given to Congress, in which Comey stated there was no evidence of wiretapping Trump's phones. In the same testimony, he confirmed that there is an ongoing investigation to look for collusion. He did not state any results of that investigation. https://nyti.ms/2nrx6N2
2) Trump's letter stating that Comey told him 3 times that he was not under investigation. Forgive me for not believeing Trump's letter. He has done a lot of lying and I don't consider him credible.
I am not saying there is any wrongdoing or collusion. But I have not seen the FBI officially declare there is no evidence. Please give me a source if they have made such a statement.
Thanks,

I would say that Trump is perceived to be good for business. The most important things business needs haven't occurred, and that is reform for taxes, banking, and regulatory laws. Most of what will be beneficial needs to come from congress. Executive orders only go so far.

Right. Corporate taxes being reduced may help temporarily.
