I apologize if this question has been answered already or the stupidity of the question. When you make a move is it both future contributions and accumulated ? I’m sure this is a silly question. I plan on retiring the end of 2020 and so far by dumb luck i’ve Managed to amass ~1.4M in my tsp. I would love to find something that would watch it grow but not have to micromanage- seemed like daily or seasonal strategy would be good. Thanks

Not a stupid question at all. For both the monthly and daily seadonal strategies you change both the new allocations and accululated fund.
If you follow a daily or monthly seasonal strategy, the frequent IFTs will move the contributions into the next designated fund. You don't have to change your contribution selection with each IFT because you have such a large balance (1.4M). The difference in return even with maximum contributions will be negligible. But that said, it would only take an extra minute to change your contribution allocation when you're changing your IFT.

Personally, I leave my contributions lined up to the G fund for my convenience.

mmmmmmbeer, I see you made the move to C today. Did you abandon 7980? I thought the move to C was scheduled for Monday.

Yes sir, I put in my IFT for today. I posted it yesterday.

A move to C before noon today would trade in C starting Monday.

Before noon IFTs "normally" trade at close that day.

so IFT to C today before noon means that come Monday you are in C and bought in at Friday’s share price correct?
