OCTOBER: This is one of the peculiarly dangerous months to speculate in stocks in. The others are July, January, September, April, November, May, March, June, December, August, and February. - Pudd'nhead Wilson's Calendar

Also consider a sliding scale for negativity, where you get proportionately penalized based on your positive/negative ratio. As you go more negative, you lose more points per ding.
E.g. initially, you lose 1 pt for every 5 you slam, assuming a neutral pos/neg ratio. If you have awarded 30 negative, but only 10 positive points your penalty is 30/10 or 3 points every time you award negatively.

This is not a yes/no issue. In fact it may be a great system to troll for trolls and block them.

The challenge might be to ensure legitimate users are not blocked.
Re: Reputation Points System
I started giving out negative points yesterday. My tipping point was being accused of something I did not do--I did not PM Chico.Tomanyiron wrote:catfish wrote:After reading this I went and found negative reputation points recently given by these users too:
maui21ice
cswift01
wdd09
wisepierre
phxmrc
Wazzu82
evilanne
squatchETF
Ofsthun01
mjedlin66
Do any of these give positive points, but with negative comments, or vice-versa?
--I haven't seen Wazzu82, squatchETF or Ofsthun01 give out negative points.
--Phxmrc, who hasn’t posted since Sep 2016 but gave negative points to BR549 in Dec 2016, now has 6 negative comments and -5 points (Chamorrita on Wed Jun 14, 2017).
--The only negative points I’ve seen wisepierre give out was on January 4, 2017 to BR549 who responded by giving back the negative rep points on January 13, 2017. Six (6) new members also provided negative comments but had no Reputation Power. Then on Jun 14, 2017 Asiana, Chico, Stormvet & Tiffany dinged him for saying he typically used buy & hold. viewtopic.php?f=14&p=58370#p58370 Tiffany who was buy & holder Seems those who feigned outrage on one of my posts re: veteran benefits feel the need to attack a young enlisted troop for voicing his opinion back in January

--cswift01 & wdd09 have received more negative points than they have given and probably have been chased off from posting based recent attacks.
--mjedlin66 gave Five-O -5 points, who has now given him -10 (he has received over 100 negative points from the group)
The Following members that have joined since December 2016 have given 2 or more negatives:

Chico

It seems pretty obvious that the overwhelming survey results indicate the desire to scrap rep points. Time to move on?

Very true, I think it might be similar to a note on a bulletin board saying "All nitwits sign in here".

That is the understatement of the day. LOL.

Agree. Probably best to just remove it and get back to the real goal.....makingme$$$$

Here, here. I'll second that motion.

If the Clintons and the Russians are indeed the source for all this mayhem, go ahead and pull the plug. The system is probably so corrupted at this point that it's not worth trying to salvage.

Why stop there, why not erase all the trophies? Then eliminate the Fantasy, change it to just a blog, where people can just shoot shit, and never be held accountable, and never have to demonstrate their abilities.
But hold on, wait a cotton picking minute, do you think King really cares about your votes?

Re: Reputation Points System
I can't figure out how you are all looking at historical reputation points, especially those by other users. All I am able to see is the last few reputation points given to me by going to the user control panel.
I admit to giving negative reputation to Five-O in retaliation. I probably should have just let it go.

Under the Reputation point, right above the green & red box...the little box or boxes show the last ~50 comments made--at a certain point older ones drop off. Yours only goes back to June 14th, mine starts at June 30 because of all the negatives. The link for yours is viewreputation.php?id=15109
