What to invest in now ???
So what to invest in now I've busted my ass over the past few years and did well for my myself, but now what?
* I max out my TSP
* Fully fund 2 Roth IRA's, one for myself and one for my wife that's with vanguard
* I max out an ESA for my daughter ($2,000)/ year
* I put $ in a 529 for my daughter for college ($3,500)/year
** I paid my house off 2 years ago and the only bills we have is to keep the lights on and food on he table
** I have roughly 18 years left before I can retire and receive my pension
Thoughts. ??

Well you can start a brokerage account. And you might consider an annuity. AS I understand t5hem (I don't have one) withdrawals are3 tax free. If you opened a brokerage account you could invest in Vanguard or Amazon and watch for the next up and coming star.

I like Vanguard ETF's. For example "VBR"

No 401(k) for the wife? If she is self employed, you can invest a gargantuan amount into her 401(k) because you get to make both the employee and the employer contribution.

Enjoy your life - you are better off than 98% of the world. Don't wait to amass a 3 million dollar fortune and have a heart attack at 50 and spend none. Take a trip to Europe, help out your favorite charity. Do you know that 20,000 children die each day in this world from lack of clean water, food, wars, and basic medicines? Make a difference since you have been given a tremendous gift and opportunity. Just my two cents worth. Have a great life.

I'll second this. You're going to be just fine. Enjoy the time with your family! If you feel you need to invest though... Look at getting a vacation property that you'd like to visit a few times a year. You can use a company to manage it for you or hire someone to clean it an use airbnb, vrbo, or any other like site. Will allow you to continue to build equity while doubling as a vacation. You can also use it to write off business expenses when you visit your property.

I don't know how old your daughter is, but roll the dice and OPEN an IRA for her and contribute to it. See if you can sneak it passed the IRS.
Also, just open a taxable account and buy Berkshire. It's so large and diverse it's basically a diversified ETF. Plus no management fee and no taxes on dividend disbursements.

Open a brokerage account. Go to Mutual Fund Observer and under their three alarm funds section, research the honor roll funds to get ideas for ETFs and mutual funds to invest in and then do your due diligence. You'll see funds from Vanguard, Fidelity, Wisdom Tree in there, but there are other good funds listed too.

I will stray from the tree a bit... have you considered p2p consumer lending? I'm thinking LendingClub and the like, managed through something like LendingRobot.

Vanguard taxable brokerage. Mid-cap value index fund. Set-up automatic payments and forget it.

And then I'd determine how much for travel, and giving if that's something you're interested in doing.

That is awesome. And congratulations. I think after busting your ass, you should spend the rest and enjoy yourself. Hate seeing people save like this and die of a heart attack young and never get to enjoy themselves. My recommendation: invest in yourself and your family, lots of vacations and fun!

Way to make the rest of us feel like complete failures...
Invest? If you invest another penny, you're a buffoon IMO. Go spend the damn money. You can't take it with you!
