What is 10716?
10716 is the current leader of the "Daily Seasonal" website: tspcalc.com
This is one of the discussions about tspcalc:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=13984Daily Seasonal is a bit different than the "Seasonal" strategies. For information on Seasonal, start here:

I am using the daily historical data as a guide for where to go next, and statistical based technical analysis for the specific day to IFT.

I count 13 more trading days that 10716 is going to be in the S fund. If it or any of the other dailies makes it through this S fund period without a lost, I will be surprised. Call it gut or just my way of thinking related to “ebb and flow”, but this year is not even close to average, and everything in these dailies is based on averages.

I thought the daily and seasonals were a way to avoid the "gut" feeling decisions.

Yes, I am 100% in! I shifted from Gclapper's M3 Mix in July to #7653. I am still trying to figure out if I should follow #7653, #7980, or whoever the current leader is?
I really appreciate the smart people on this site who come up with these strategies. I was taught to be a long term investor, so I left 100% of my TSP in the C fund, then the C and S fund, then the C, S, and I fund. Having been so agressive in the past, reaping the benefits of good years and suffering the losses of bad years, I appreciate the safety of the G fund moves and relative safety of the F fund moves. It's way smarter than what I was doing on my own! Maybe it won't work out, but I can't score if I don't shoot!

Put me in the "no but thinking about it" catagory. Been impressed so far but would like to see more data.

The problem with "more data" is that it provides more reasons to NOT use this strategy; what you really want is evidence of success. A year from now when 30 or 40 people talk about getting more than 30% returns, that might be enough data (or not).
But that will attract hundreds of people (who never even heard of this site) who won't care how it works, won't read anything about it; they just want someone/something to tell them when to move their money. Those hundreds will attract thousands of FED employees on their way to being millionaires...till Big Brother steps in to change the rules from 2 IFTs per month to 2 IFTs per year. (We already have more than 16,000 Fed millionaires, it would be poor fiscal policy to allow more.)
"Everybody knows" that the economy is a closed system where some greedy rich FED employee is increasing his TSP by stealing those dollars from the poor hard-working downtrodden poor (poor had to be said twice).
Be politically correct:
Don't use any system that returns more than the G fund, don't steal money from the poor to fund your retirement, don't take food from the mouths of poor children and don't tell anybody else how to become financially independent.

TSP millionaires don't cost Uncle Sam any more or less than all the thousandaires. It cost him the 5% match.
I'm not saying Uncle won't or can't step in, but more millionaires is better for our govt. For Uncle to step in claiming fiscal responsibility would be a farce on so many levels.

S fund from 23 Aug - 18 Sep following 7653, +4.62%. Surprise!
It's not too late to turn this year around bro. 7653 averages 9.61% return from Oct - Dec. You're already in the right fund with an IFT available to jump into I fund next Monday. Come on in. The water's fine.
