Re: Let's start a TSP Daily Mix strategy club...
Considered taking advantage of the triple witching last night. Decided to stick with the plan and submitted the IFT to F today instead.
BTW, MakeMe$$$$ brings up a point I've been considering the past few days. While everyone that switched to 7980 is fixated on the low Std Dev, doesn't that blade cut both ways? Yes, the lows won't be so low, but won't the highs be so high either? Therefore, the ultimate number to be looking at is mean or CAGR, not the SD. Regardless of SD, that number determines where the sliding scale of SD is applied to.
Reason I bring this up is to highlight what our risk tolerance is. I'm totally a risk taker, so I'll be focusing on the highest mean/CAGR mixes. Focusing on SD implies being risk averse. So the question to ask yourself is that what you want to do with your TSP at this point in your career?

As of Market close on Monday, I will be following #7980, as I just caught up with all the threads and now have a least a small incling of what the monthly and daily strategies are. Really looking forward to seeing how this all plays out. I figure it has to be better than the G fund I've been sitting in for the past 4 years.

7980 or 7474? lol
Both are definitely better than G. Best of luck!

Yes, I've been on the fence, but I'm absolutely positive it will be one of them, unless it's not, then I'll do something that's still better than Ground Gero

Hopefully you guys get it all back tomrrow. The I fund is goofy like that.

Those who 'abjure' violence can do so only because others are committing violence on their behalf.

Yeah, i'm beginning to believe that the I fund uses the currency evaluations from the prior day. The dollar versus the Yen is killing us.
