No pressure...
So after hearing my schpeal for the last several months and knowing my results, my step dad just gave me his TSP password last night and said "go for it". He retired in March 2016 and has been sitting in the G fund since. He's got 294k in there. So I'm gonna try to double it for him in a few years.
That being said, he and my Mom arn't rich folks so that money isn't throw away. I very much doubt I'll make him less than the 2% PIP as of last night I saw, but I'm really hoping good things!
So now I'm managing my wife's, my Pops, and my TSP! I've got us all following the 7980.
Wasn't able to get pops into the I until tomorrow so we missed out on a pretty decent uptick. Hopefully it keeps it up u til the IFT kicks through on Friday.
So yeah... no pressure!

I cant even imagine doing it for my folks....
If things don't go as planned, you can all live together in the same house and crunch numbers together!!

Re: No pressure...
mmmmmbeer, you have a power of persuasion I do not. I show my co-workers the proven results of 7980 and I get the usual, "meh, I just leave it in the L fund." By the way, did you notice 7980 was accurate, to the day, again today?
Also, I may be speaking prematurely, but I've actually previously thought that the daily seasonal was "safe" enough to continue with post-retirement... does anyone else have the same sentiment?

I love it when we do an IFT and it shows to be minutely correct the next day! It's happened what... at least 3 or 4 times since we started in June?
And yes... I can't imagine if between now and my first eligible date in 2024 if I have averaged 12-20+% a year, why I would all of the sudden decide to not get that rate of return in retirement and jump to the G fund. Makes zero sense.
Plus... if I can maintain at least that 12% in retirement I should be able to take a pretty healthy draw and still watch my balance grow!
I'm for sure going to be doing my daily strat in retirement if nothing drastically changes.

Give it time with the coworkers...don't try to convince them, just keep reporting how much you are making periodically, ask them what their PIP is (you may have to tell them where to find it), anything that gets them talking about or looking at their TSP...eventually someone may bite. It was a group of coworkers way back talking about the C Fund that got me to venture out of the G Fund
How long do you have until retirement? Only time will tell, but if it continues to work well you can make that decision when you get there

Re: No pressure...
Was thinking the same here. Continue the strat in retirement if it works with about a 4% annual draw. On average that's looking like it could be 200k+ (hopefully even better) a year for me. The real question I ask myself is that if it does that well should I "retire" early and take the tsp penalties/collect a pension when eligible or stay until I could take my health plan with me too. All in all, very much good problems to have.
Re: No pressure...
Good luck man! I'm 100% following #7980, and my fiance who retires in December, is 50%G, 50% #7980. I hope you get to be a financial hero to your family!
Moved from GClapper's M3 Mix to the Daily Seasonal #7980 / July 2017

Health plan is #1. Get sick later on and even with millions watch it dwindle.
