F Fund: share value and index
When I first got into the F fund the share value was about $15.xx and the index was about 110. Now the value is $18.xx and the index is about the same. Why aren't the index and value of the shares more directly related?

Because the index has been around for a lot longer than the F Fund has been. It's had longer to grow. In addition, the Index might have started off at a higher $$ when it was first created. The F Fund started at $10, IIRC.

Also, the TSP reinvests dividends whereas the EFA share price pays a dividend, usually at the beginning of each month, which the investor can choose either to receive as cash payment or reinvest.
