Could the fees also play a role in the difference? When we track the changes for the various indexes, those do not take into consideration the fees from th broker. Similar to buying and selling stocks, you need to consider the commission to determine your ”net” gain or loss.

Benchmarks are not funds although there are many funds based on the indexes. TSP Funds are generally higher than the the benchmark indexes & fund prices because of reinvestment of the dividends

Just glad I'm not the only one experiencing, or seeing this when you use the activity summary feature of tsp.gov. Without doing a complete breakdown of each day, it would appear that the account summary is accurate to reflect daily gains/losses, but when using the activity summary, it sometimes shows inaccurate data. Someone mentioned that tsp.gov can't show a 24 hour period to which I disagree. Can't find anywhere to support that. Evilanne makes good points as well, that TSP index funds may differ slightly than the funds they follow. Still doesn't explain how on a significantly positive day in the market, my actual account reflects around a .20% loss, but other days it's fine. I'll keep digging, great information people with the exception of the one individual that thought it was acceptable to bash a fellow investor.

As others have echoed, I had to double check as well. To try and make sense I reread how TSP.gov invests in each of the funds. The site explains the differences we are all concerned about and shows a comparison between TSP monthly gains/loses and the Market on its "fund performance" tab. This might help explain things somewhat, select the "Individual/Index Funds (Past 12 Months)" option:
