I'm making investment on some of my saving money. I try to follow daily strategy and have individual investment account with Robinhood. They offer free trades with a catch that they don't have C (DWCPF). They have IYM, IYE, IYF

Anyone has experience with Dow Jones stock? I am looking for a stock that have similar patterns.

Thank

If you can use VXF (e.g. with TD Ameritrade or Vanguard accounts) I'd use that as the proxy for the S fund. Here's a ratio chart that shows how VXF has performed consistently better than the S fund:

http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=VXF%3A ... 3646821402

For Charles Schwab accounts you could use SCHA.

tsptap1234, I have a Robinhood account and thought about trying a seasonal approach with them. Which funds did you pick to mimic the TSP core funds? Is the buying and selling of stocks with Robinhood immediate or is there delay similar to TSP?

SSO is the stock you want if you're wanting to follow the C fund.

I looked into this previously and came up with the following:

Robinhood/Vanguard:
C: VOO
S: VXF
I: VEA
F: BND

Fidelity: (allows you to trade iShare ETF's commission free)
C: IVV
S: IJR
I: IEFA
F: AGG

Robinhood trading is instant. If you are using this for an IRA, during the times when the daily seasonal strategy is in the G fund, you can go back to your IRA portfolio's "core position." This is generally short-term bonds.

Nriatol pretty much cover it.

My personal proxy is:
AGG-F
IVV-C
VXF/VTWO - S
EFA-I

Is there a reason you didn't choose AGG for F and EFA for I? Those are the funds typically used when tracking TSP performance and since Robinhood also tracks them it seems like a safe bet for consistency. Is there a benefit to using the funds you mention instead?

You can use whichever you choose of course, but I believe BND and VEA are commission free on Vanguard.

SSO is currently up 0.44% whereas VOO and IVV which mimic the C fund are around 0.21%. Not that a higher return is bad, but if we're looking for funds that follow the TSP core funds as closely as possible, why choose SSO which deviates so much from how the core fund really performs?
