They're not rules really, more like guide lines anyway.
mo meng, mo ching (which loosely means: no money, no life)
Re: Anyone doing an IFT a day early?
Those of you that moved already, keep something in mind: you have until noon tomorrow to cancel a move. The IFT cutoff time is noon and takes effect at that day's COB. Up until noon, you are allowed to change, or cancel, any IFT submitted to the system.

I moved to G early (last Thursday). Seemed like way more down side than upside with the tax reform vote.

Re: Anyone doing an IFT a day early?
I was thinking about moving, but it seems that anytime I ever try to outguess the system (whichever one I am currently following) I end up regretting it.
I am really trying to follow the plan here as far as the timing goes...As far as going 100% with the chosen fund...I am not quite there yet....sort of a 70/30 guy for now...
On the bright side, all of us government peeps got a stay of execution until 12/22 so at least that should not be a drag on tomorrows numbers....Moving to (some %) of 'G' tomorrow with the rest probably going into "L" Income....

Aitrus, I think the clock on the website is off. I made IFT prior to 12:00 EST (10:45 CST) but it is showing IFT for tomorrow. Got the email from TSP confirming transaction.Aitrus wrote:Those of you that moved already, keep something in mind: you have until noon tomorrow to cancel a move. I really just wanted to post since we use the same picture
This is good to know! I could have used that in the past to my advantage.Aitrus wrote:Those of you that moved already, keep something in mind: you have until noon tomorrow to cancel a move. I am following seasonal strategy 7980, which recommends moving to the G for a week, and then the I fund. With the developments in the Brexit negotiations, I'm considering going straight to the I fund. Thoughts?

It tempted me too. Having you considered holding out until Monday?willib01 wrote:I am following seasonal strategy 7980, which recommends moving to the G for a week, and then the I fund. With the developments in the Brexit negotiations, I'm considering going straight to the I fund. Thoughts?

I'm thinking 50/50 I and G until we go all in.
Re: Anyone doing an IFT a day early?
IFT to F today as per 16517. Probably will regret that decision but sticking to the plan takes out the emotion. Riding F until the move to I next friday

I apologize for the ignorance but can anyone share a link on the seasonal strategy that is being discussed in this conversation link

This is a retread from a previous response. Hopefully the links will still be accurate. Note that the URLs listed below contain a number that refers to a post on this (TSP Center) website. If you see someone "following 7980 or 16517" that refers to a strategy from TSPcalc.com, a separate website developed by one of the participants here.
There are several Seasonal mixes. Required reading is this thread by Aitrus: Seasonal Musings

Sorry ZOB,
I assumed you were a newbie so included the links to the established "Seasonal" mixes. The numbers you see in this thread refer to the new "Daily Seasonal" on TSPcalc.com.
