I Fund should be on fire today...expecting big US tax cuts!

Post by Chulke »

As I write this I can see the foreign markets are blazing a path in part, from what I've read, of a possible US tax code change...we'll see...but right now the...

NIKKEI= +1.55% makes up nearly a quarter of the I fund
Shanghai Composite= +.05%
DAX= +1.39%
FTSE 100 in the U.K.= +.45%
CAC 40 out of France= +1.17%
Hang Seng out of Hong Kong= +.70%

Overall...this could shape up to be one of those rare...really really good days ;-)

Put your boots on cause this thing should be zooming today, folks!

Fingers Crossed!

Good Luck everyone!!
Cheers!

That would be fantastic Chulke...need to erase that red box for December on my tracking Spreadsheet...

Agreed! My tracker shows I'm down .5782% for the month of December...and as I typed this out...

Yahoo Finance shows the pre-market on the EFA= +1.04%

I'm not trying to knit pick the Daily, but if I'm reading correctly, it looks like EFA pays out its dividend on December 28th; many of the Daily Strategies have us moving this year on the 29th. That said, would anyone consider moving a day early to try and catch the dividend wave?

Good info. My strategy goes from I to G on the 29th, would I just to G that day early?

Yes, so long as:

1. The date I stated is correct and,

2. You believe the I fund will peak on the 28th because of the dividend.

Hopefully someone can confirm the dividend date.

Don't Doubt the Daily. See what it's yielded so far today? Stay the course. Many of us got into the I fund today per the daily strategy and it just keeps hitting the mark. Stay the course!

Dividend will adjust to the I fund price, so you won't lose any money.

I'm with ya, onerepmax....staying in the I until 1/2/2018.... Gonna ride this gravy train while I can.... The Daily has me in the F fund for most of the month of January - so you know there's not going to be much of a return during that time.....

Also, I wouldn't want to be in the S or C right now. I just watched a segment on Bloomberg TV about the "Santa Claus Rally" - they defined it as the last 2 weeks in December (I always thought the SC Rally referred to the entire month) and they looked back over several years and the 2016 and 2015 returns were both NEGATIVE during that time..... Maybe some folks will say we are due for a good SC Rally this year after being a losing proposition the past 2 years, but I don't like that track record......

Come on I fund - a nice 1.37% on the day so far...... and the dollar is DOWN - so we should that icing on this cake too !

Good Luck to All.....

If you look at the I Fund Chart below, it appears to be climbing every so much, but when you click on the chart, it shows it's actually declined from this am.

Is the dividend tied to the day of the week or the day of the month?

Here are two strategies which differ only by the final IFT:
#19984 goes I to G on the 19th trading day. December 2004-16 Mean/SD=1.37
#19065 goes I to G on the 20th trading day. December 2004-16 Mean/SD=1.73

I think it is another chart error. The old link still shows it correctly.
