Chart 1: Stock Strength looks a little flat for Wednesday. Even the S fund did not jump much.
Chart 2: Pull is up another day, that’s 3 in a row. S fund price has been up 4 days in a row. Odds are that a down-day is close. Would that be a buying opportunity, or a sign of a full fledged pullback?

Chart 2: Pull was up on Thursday, while S fund price was flat.

Chart 1: Stock Strength is UP, bonds down.
Chart 2: So Pull has returned to about the same up-slope angle as before that dip in the last days of February.

Re: 2018 Strength and Market Pull
As you know this "Pull" system is a lagging indicator. Something I keep getting disappointed with. And I have a host of other chart/indicators I check with before pulling the trigger. After doing so I saw a few things that did not fit in. And allowed the curse of market timing to creep into my mind. Everyone knows what I'm talking about, the "This time might be different" curse.evilanne wrote:So when are you going to jump back in?
I think Timbo knows that from experience, and still fights it himself.TimboSlice wrote: People really need to stop overthinking this.
So that said, will I go in now, 4 days after the "Pull" said to? Give me a little more time to think about it.
Now let me turn this back on you, you seem well-informed, how much longer to you think this rally will last?

Chart 1: Stock Strength was mixed, but the favorite S fund made more money.
Chart 2: Stock Pull climbed the hill a little higher.

Re: 2018 Strength and Market Pull
I have no clue I know I'm bad at timing the markets so I always keep some invested. As soon as I got totally out of the S Fund it took off and the trade stuff put a damper on the C Fund Although US markets are high, I think they have more room to grow this year, but as performance shows thus far this year, it could be a bumpy ride. Irregardless of what Crondanet says, I think the I Fund has more room to grow and with the value of dollar declining declining since the seasonal moves to the I Fund last week, it could be profitable. Only time will tell.Tomanyiron wrote:So that said, will I go in now, 4 days after the "Pull" said to? Give me a little more time to think about it.

Anyone else notice the recent coupling between crude oil prices and the SP500?

Chart 1: Strength is down for everything.
Chart 2: Stock Pull was down on Thursday. Just a dip or the start of a dive? I don’t know, but it just seems like the latter.

I look forward to this post every trading morning. I stare at the charts. One day, I'll figure out how to interpret them.

Thanks Tomany. Sure seems quiet on the boards.
Re: 2018 Strength and Market Pull
It seems to get quiet around here when the market struggles to find direction. When things are going well, you see threads like "S Fund on Fire!" but for now, many are scratching their heads trying to figure out what's going on. Most daily strategies aren't living up to past average performance. Even strategy 32187 with a SD of 0.72 and a CAGR of 28.2 is at a loss of -3.75 for the year as of COB 3/16. I think we have a president that can say/do something that can change the market day-to-day.evilanne wrote:Thanks Tomany. Sure seems quiet on the boards.
