Mr. Perfect

I remember a thread about Mr. Perfect, the investor who made all the perfect moves all year long. Based on hindsight, of course. I thought it was a lot of fun. And now that we have TSPCalc I thought it would be fun to do it again.

So. Here he is. Currently in strategy #23161. He is currently at 3.71%. Just barely ahead of Smartygirl.

I'll keep him up and put the new strategy numbers here as he makes IFTs and whenever he goes back in time to change his IFTs. I'm very confident I have it right this early in the game, but in the future, if anybody sees a move that will get him a higher return YTD, just post it here.

Good luck with this Fordest. Only problem I see is you have already used 2 IFTs which is great if C continues to be the best performer but your only available move now would be to G. If I Fund outperforms, Smartygirl may still end up in the lead and still has an unconditional IFT for January.

That's all true. But lucky for Mr. perfect he can travel in time and change past IFTs.

Of course this is all just for fun and couldn't ever be any kind of strategy. At least not until they get time travel online for public use.

That would have been "TSProphet." Never made a mistake and always seems to know which direction the market was headed. After he/she wrapped up a 30%+ return one year...he/she evaporated. Never participated in conversation so no one had a clue who "it" was. I recall only one post, I believe it was during the last two weeks of December one year. If I recall, Prophet was in stocks at the time and out of the blue a post pops up: "I'm out...see ya."

Hasn't been seen since. Talk about a ghost >>>>POOF<<<<

I like the Mr Perfect idea but seems people lost interest about 3-4 months into the year.

It was fun for a while. But it became upsetting when you compared your own YTD with his.

As evilanne said, you have to wait until the end of each month, before you can know for sure what the perfect moves would have been.

Lots of luck fordest, maybe now that we have TSPCalc, comparing it will be of more benefit.

Yes I think that's the one I remember.

I'm not sure there's any real benefit. But I think it might be fun. With TSPCalc I should be able to update it daily as Mr. Perfect travels back and forth in time. Nothing will be final for him until some time after the month ends though.

I'm also hopping the depressing aspect is less because I am in a daily strategy. Therefore there's no "shoulda made this move" aspect. I'm doing what I'm gonna do no matter what. Besides that. Who in the whole trading world would go from C to I for one day then back to C? Only a time traveler. And as Anne pointed out that probably won't hold.

Yeah that's the guy ... he once told me he was a Prince of some country and he desperately needed to give his millions of dollars to the good people of the U.S. I only needed to send him 1500.00 for the bank transfer. After doing so, I never heard from him again.

That should balance out the feeling of "I should have made those moves" with "at least I didn't make those moves!"
