When to jump back in?

When to jump back in?
I’m new to this TSP deal. I’ve only been contributing for about three years and when the market began to go haywire, many co-workers urged me to move 100% to G. Before moving I had 50% S and 50% C.
When should I dive back in to C and S and what are some of your suggestions on how to spread it around percentage wise between funds?

I hope you didn't move to G at a loss! Next time, make a plan ahead ahead for times like these (like you wont sell if the market falls 5% but you'll sell at 10% - just an example, not my advice) and don't listen to your coworkers unless they're certified financial planners. And even if they are, maybe still dont listen to them. Right now if you buy back into C, S, I, youll be buying back in at November's prices. If you're not retiring anytime soon, don't stress current market events and stick with your strategy.

There's nothing wrong with selling for a loss as long as you can buy back in for cheaper. My advice, see what happens next week and feel comfortable things have stabilized before moving back to risky positions. I'm expecting one more move downward before this correction wraps up and things turn back around but keep in mind that corrections rarely wrap up so quickly. They normally take at least a few months to complete.

One other way to hedge risk is to allocate a portion of your portfolio to the G Fund. In my case, I keep 25% in the G fund and use it to buy dips. I've committed that 25% as of Friday, so we'll see if I caught the drop somewhere around the bend in the curve...
