Tomanyiron - my secret is quiet simple, if the stocks ever crash for more than 2 days in a row, i move my money to G. Once the market began to crash on Jan 26th, 29th, and 30th, my money was moving G's way. There i was willing to stay, and sit for a while. Watching as stocks plummeted, but personally i knew, from all the talk of people buying up now much cheaper stocks like Apple; that is was just a matter of time that these same stocks were going to bounce. I believe it was not until Feb 7th, that my money was locked into C and S, even though i was a bit nervous, that we may have hit the bottom of the valley, i knew stocks couldn't go much lower before the bounce. Sure enough all the flow of new money, from the masses buying up cheaper Apple, Amazon, Microsoft etc, created the February rocket ship that many of us are enjoying right now. Happy Investing you all, and God Bless.

I hope I can remember that next year.
So far, the 2018 market has been quite similar to the 2017 market. Stocks were strong the first part of January in 2017, just like this year. They started to slump late January 2017, just like this year. And they recovered on February 8th 2017, just like this year.

I don't imagine this sort of thing happens every year, but this year, it's been almost identical.

In fact, here's the strategy that shows why I got back in Feb 8th. http://tspcalc.com/seasonal.php?ID=2139 ... sortby=avg

I don't imagine the similarities will continue for the entire year, but for now, this strategy is working well.
