Rough start to the monthlies...

Post by mmmmmbeer »

Man with today's losses, TMJ100 and Jahbulon's just absolutely getting CRUSHED right now:

tmj100 = -5.22%

jahby's = -6.14%

Its kind of early to say. And "absolutely CRUSHED" seems a bit hyperbolic to me.

If by the end of the year stocks are down 15% and they are only down 5%... Could be a win.

Lets give them some more time and check back on them in June :)
I am just an average Joe. I have no clue to what the market will do.

The average for tmj100 after two months is 1.71%.

The average for jahbulon's after two month is 2.07%.

So to currently be around -7% for tmj100 and -8% off average for jahbulon's thus far after two month is yes.. i considered starting out with a crushing.

The thread title is "Rough Start", so yes.. IMHO -7% & -8% are in fact very rough starts for monthly strategies that average 16% & 14% yearly.

I'm nothing if not dramatic.

True Tommy.. I'm at -2.41 on the year so while not ideal.. I think theres still a pretty good chance I end up decent.

It's all that back-dated data based on 9 years of Bull Market coming back to BITE.

Like most, I flew to safety this week. I'm going to be sitting in the G fund, until there is a little better stability. Market movements up and down are to be expected. The heavy chop we've been seeing since early February will eventually smooth out... the question is when?

Until then, I'm licking my wounds (-5.2%) and waiting for the opportunity to pounce...

Of course things can change in a day, but who would've bet that the guys/gals who stayed in G fund would be ahead of all the other funds or strategies two months into 2018!!
