S Fund today??

S Fund today??
Many strategies move to the S fund today, but its seems a little unwise to jump in today given how high it is right now. I'm curious on people's thoughts on either jumping to S today or deviating from the strategy and staying put or going elsewhere (I'm currently in G as per 20241).

Yep, but only 6 of my toes, I left 40% in "G".
Re: S Fund today??
Of the 90+ people making changes today (myself included), 90% are going into the S fund. That sounds like over 80 people following a strategy from TSPCALC are still faithful, after a horrible start to the year. Of course, not all of the 40K+ strategies there call for a change to S fund today, but many of the popular strategies do, and I also note that like me, some are experiencing big losses this year, unprecedented by their "past performance." If my strategy is to make a 32% expected gain for the year, it has seven months to make 40%.

A move to the S fund could be a good choice: The S fund has broken up out of it's consolidation wedge and is now continuing it's former UP trend.
A move to the S fund could be a bad choice: The sideways market will include the S fund in it's up & down movements within the channel and even if the channel has a slight upward trend, the S fund will dip down during the next week or so.
This sounds like on of those 50/50/90 choices; when faced with a 50/50 chance, you have a 90% chance of getting it wrong.

I am finding the daily strategy hard to follow. Mainly because I can't keep up with the moves. I thinking for myself a monthly strat may be more my speed. But, for now trying to follow the daily.mindofmush wrote:A move to the S fund could be a good choice: The S fund has broken up out of it's consolidation wedge and is now continuing it's former UP trend.

I am just an average Joe. I have no clue to what the market will do.

I find the daily strategy easy to follow by setting a calendar reminder for the afternoon on the day before each scheduled move. I followed it perfectly for months but found myself down over 8% for the year. I have since diversified and am trying to slowly dig myself out of the hole.Scarfinger wrote:
