Fers supplement

Post by Benjerman »

Following federal budgets can get complicated and downright nauseating. Hard to figure what is and what isn't in them. I know Trump has been trying to cut our Fers supplement. Does anyone know if this is still being persued by the administration? I have 3 years until retirement. The supplement won't make or break me but it would certainly help. Thx for any answers.

It's my understanding that it's still funded and hasn't been removed from the current senate funding bill. Contact your house reps and insist it stays in there for any compromised bill. The same is true of our 1.9% raise.

I don't think they will be able to change for existing employees without creating a new retirement system applicable to new employees. They will continue to pursue, but based on prior history I don't think they will be successful.
