Future contributions.

Post by PhilJohn »

Maybe a stupid question, but I was considering going to G-Fund today, but earlier this month I changed where my contribution allocations went. Does that count as 1 of my 2 moves for the month? I didn’t want to jump to G and not be able to get back in.

Thanks in advance.

You can always transfer to G.

Example: If you move to C Fund and later the same month you go to S Fund... that's your two moves, but you can still go to G Fund within the same month. In this example, once you go back to G you're done until the 1st trading day of the next month.

In your case, you made a move earlier this month; yeah that counts. If you decide to go to G, you're done for January. You can't make a 3d move out of G fund.

Good luck in whatever you do!

Wait....

There is a difference between contribution allocations and interfund transfers. It appears in your post that you are combining them. If I am understanding you correctly, you previously changed your contribution allocation, and now you wish to make an interfund transfer to G?

You can make as many contribution allocation changes as you wish. They DO NOT count toward your interfund transfers.

You can only make two unrestricted interfund transfers per month. After two, all interfund transfers can only be made fully or incrementally into G.

Therefore, if I was correct in my original assumption, you will still be able to get back in as the move to G will be your first intefund transfer.

Good catch fordest - and I think you hit the nail squarely on the head.
