Last week, Mr. Perfect watched and followed Tomy's strength charts and moved over to F without even flinching for the whole week. Mr. Perfect is finally beginning to pull away from the TSP Center leaders. Mr. Imperfect shared his week between S and I.

Mr. Perfect - S to F on 3/4 - #64965 22.86%
Mr. Imperfect - F to S on 3/4 to I on 3/7 - #65120 -9.77%
100% in the daily system since August 2, 2017.

All funds were positive last week. But it was the C fund that won the attention of Mr. Perfect. Thursday's negative day barely even registered. Mr. Imperfect has been sitting in G just waiting for this pullback that is supposed to be coming.

Mr. Perfect - S to F on 3/4 to C on 3/11 - #65239 26.48%
Mr. Imperfect - F to S on 3/4 to I on 3/7 to G on 3/11 - #65240 -9.72%

Even with Friday's -3%, Mr. Imperfect was not able to take advantage. The losses early in the month were too great and the gains since then have been too much. So he's waiting to see if those losses are supplemented with any further losses. Otherwise he's staying in G. Mr. Perfect had abandoned the S even before Friday's red day, and he's stayed in the C through Thursday then moved to G also. So both brothers are in the G for their obvious different reasons.

Mr. Perfect - S to F on 3/4 to C on 3/11 to G on 3/22 - #65892 27.97%
Mr. Imperfect - F to S on 3/4 to I on 3/7 to G on 3/11 - #65240 -9.67%
100% in the daily system since August 2, 2017.

MARCH RECAP

It's not surprising to see funds in the G at the end of the month. But what is surprising is to see Mr. Perfect and Mr. Imperfect both in G together for such a long period of time.

Mr. Imperfect has been in G since March 11. The other funds made anywhere from 1.4 to 3.4 from March 11 to March 29. Prior to that, he lost 1.8% in the I fund on March 7-8. Only a few days had losses greater than that, but in order for Mr. Imperfect to take advantage, he would have needed to either accept too many positive days or lose the -2.73% he got from March 4-6 in addition to the -1.8%. No losses in any fund were that great.

Mr. Perfect had to go to G on March 22. He just never recovered from the big losses on that day. The TSP rules never gave him the chance to get back in. Yet. Could still happen depending what CSI do over the next week.

But until then, everything is the same as last week, and this is how things turned out for March:

Mr. Perfect - S to F on 3/4 to C on 3/11 to G on 3/22 - #65892 28.06%
Mr. Imperfect - F to S on 3/4 to I on 3/7 to G on 3/11 - #65240 -9.61%
100% in the daily system since August 2, 2017.

Welcome to April, things will likely move around until a real pattern is established. So far, Mr. Perfect has had a little of each fund. He was in the F but only for a blink. He ended up leaving it behind. Split his week by starting in the C, having a 1%+ day in the I then finishing up in the S. Meanwhile, Mr. Imperfect started off still in the G, but finally got to move over to grab small losses in the F on April 3 and the I on April 4 then straight back to G. Mr. Perfect broke 30% and Mr. Imperfect broke -10%.

Mr. Perfect - C to S on 4/3 to C on 4/4 - #66650 30.63%
Mr. Imperfect - G to F on 4/3 to I on 4/4 to G on 4/5 - #66651 -10.01%
100% in the daily system since August 2, 2017.

Last week Mr. Perfect started things off in C but ended them in S. While C had the best day at the end of the week, Mr. Perfect still preferred to stay finish it off in C. One little hiccup last week pushed him to F for a day where he grabbed a bit more than a repose in G. Mr. Imperfect was dancing on that hiccup day and actually got a bonus down day from S. But since then he's been chilling in G.

Mr. Perfect - C to F on 4/9 to S on 4/10 - #66794 32.25%
Mr. Imperfect - G to I on 4/4 to S on 4/8 to G on 4/10 - #66795 -10.70%
100% in the daily system since August 2, 2017.

Two week update.

Mr. Perfect extended his stay in C to April 12. He gave up on F completely. F has not been useful to either of the brothers this month. Mr. Perfect grabbed a bit of I but has been in the S for the last 6 days.
Mr. Imperfect changed things up a bit and decided to hang out longer in G to get a few down days before S's charge then move over to I for the last 5 days moving to G on Friday to see what happens this week.

Mr. Perfect - C to I on 4/15 to S on 4/18 - #67934 33.51%
Mr. Imperfect - G to S on 4/15 to I on 4/18 to G on 4/26 - #67935 -11.26%

Just saw the update on this topic. I'm not too far behind Mr. Perfect so far, but definitely way better than the negative I dropped last year. :(

April Recap:

Both funds ended up in the G. It wasn't a horrible day for the S, but Mr. Perfect won't stand any loss and no other fund has been able to touch S's last 7 trading days. Mr. Imperfect has been unable to put together losses over the last three days. Good news for the rest of us.

Mr. Perfect - C to I on 4/15 to S on 4/18 to G on 4/30 - #67998 33.87%
Mr. Imperfect - G to S on 4/15 to I on 4/18 to G on 4/26 - #67999 -11.23%

Last week contained the beginning of May. So while it's really easy for the funds to grab their favorite days, the chances are that these small moves wont be permanent. Mr. Imperfect, for example, went from G to I for just one day then back to G. Mr. Perfect found a couple days in S. Today is looking to make Mr Imperfect very happy however. But more on that next week.

Mr. Perfect - G to S on 5/2 - #68075 36.2%
Mr. Imperfect - G to I on 5/2 to G on 5/3 - #68109 -11.82%

Last week was not a happy one for Mr. Perfect. But Mr Imperfect may still be dancing the jig.
Monday found Mr. Perfect in F and he couldn't even stay there for more than two days. Even Friday's black numbers couldn't coax him out of the G fund. Mr. Imperfect stayed one more day in I then found lots of red in the S fund.

BTW, TSPCalc has reached the 70K #s

Mr. Perfect - G to S on 5/2 to F on 5/6 to G on 5/8 - #70510 36.7%
Mr. Imperfect - G to I on 5/2 to S on 5/7 to G on 5/10 - #70511 -14.12%
Last Monday really shook things up. Mr. Imperfect thought he was in for a ride, but really that day ended his S-fund fun. After that, off he went to G to wait. Friday's red wasn't enough to pull him out yet. Mr. Perfect revamped everything however. Finding a streak in F that allowed him to take advantage of last weeks mid-week mini rally.

Mr. Perfect - G to F on 5/3 to S on 5/14 to G on 5/17 - #71039 38.31%
Mr. Imperfect - G to I on 5/2 to S on 5/7 to G on 5/10 - #70511 -16.53%

Last week, the markets mostly down turn made an interesting thing happen. Mr. Perfect going to G and hanging out there for 6 days isn't much of a surprise. But Mr. Imperfect did find enough negative to jump into a 13 day run in the S fund. That 13-day run includes May 14-16 which happens to also be a 2.58% grab for Mr. Perfect. I see them sharing G-fund often, but this is different to share such a long period in one of the stock funds. When the S-fund losses are enough that Mr. Imperfect is willing to grab a positive 2.58%, that doesn't bode well for Mr. Perfect or those of us trying to mimic him.

Mr. Perfect - G to F on 5/3 to S on 5/14 to G on 5/17 - #71039 38.37%
Mr. Imperfect - G to I on 5/2 to S on 5/7 to G on 5/24 - #71146 -17.08%
100% in the daily system since August 2, 2017.
