Mr. Perfect gave up his early 2-day, .60% increase stay in F for a later 5-day, .88% stay that just ended on Friday. Friday was flat for F but G gained just a little more. The almost 4.5% loss that S took over that previous 5 days prevented him from using Friday's almost 2% gain to his advantage. Mr. Imperfect loved that 5-day decrease and just ran to G to avoid that same 2% upswing putting the two brothers in the same fund for the time being.

Mr. Perfect - G to S on 8/6 to S on 8/6 to F on 8/9 to G on 8/16 - #74115 66.19%
Mr. Imperfect - S to G on 8/6 to S on 8/9 to G on 8/16 - #74117 -30.73%

Mr. Perfect was hanging out in G all week last week until Friday. F-Fund's better than average gain on Friday was enough (by .02%) to pull him back to F erasing his departure on the 16th. The stock funds' losses were not quite enough to pull Mr. Imperfect back into stocks yet. S-Fund would need to lose at least another .25% in order to make an almost month-long stint in S worth it to him in the loss department.

Mr. Perfect - G to S on 8/6 to F on 8/9 - #74002 66.32%
Mr. Imperfect - S to G on 8/6 to S on 8/9 to G on 8/16 - #74117 -30.71%

---AUGUST UPDATE---

Last week was a pretty good week for C and S. But Mr. Perfect didn't care. He stayed in F for a measly .31 then went over to G for another .02 on Thursday and Friday. While the C made something like 2.8% and the S made something like 2.1% last week, Mr. Perfect preferred the 3.6% he made back in Aug 6-8. Therefore, TSP rules kept him out of last weeks upside. Mr. Imperfect has been making money in the G fund since 8/16. Just couldn't string together enough bad days to better the big losses prior to that.

Mr. Perfect - G to S on 8/6 to F on 8/9 to G on 8/29 - #74473 66.87%
Mr. Imperfect - S to G on 8/6 to S on 8/9 to G on 8/16 - #74117 -30.67%

Mr. Perfect went back into August and changed the last day move to G. Turns out the F-fund kept up it's climb through the turn of the month. Friday gave Mr. Perfect a glimpse at the I-Fund. Something we have not seen much of this year so far. Mr. Imperfect is still just jumping around using both his moves to his advantage and grabbing the only two little losses available at this point.

Mr. Perfect - F to S on 9/4 to I on 9/6 - #77090 71.95%
Mr. Imperfect - G to F on 9/5 to S on 9/6 - #77105 -31.19%

Mr. Perfect took the first half of the week in S and opted to move to I for the last couple days.
Mr. Imperfect seems to have found a home in the falling F-Fund.

Mr. Perfect - F to S on 9/4 to I on 9/12 - #77283 76.91%
Mr. Imperfect - G to F on 9/5 - #76136 -32.09%

Pretty boring week for the Perfect Brothers. Both saw a reversal in their favored funds Mr. Perfect on Monday and Mr. Imperfect on Tuesday. And with nothing more for the rest of the week they both just sat in G.

Mr. Perfect - F to S on 9/4 to I on 9/12 to G on 9/16 - #77394 76.96%
Mr. Imperfect - G to F on 9/5 to I on 9/16 to G on 9/17 - #77474 -32.69%

No surprise where Mr. Imperfect is hanging out. He has been picking up plenty of red days in the S fund. Enough this week to the point that he took his losses all the way back to the 17th of the month and even absorbed a .94% positive day. Mr. Perfect grabbed some F-fund gains and spent the greater half of the week in G. Tomi nailed it when he said, "the US stock market is not the place to be." Unless you are Mr. Imperfect!

Mr. Perfect - F to S on 9/4 to F on 9/16 to G on 9/25 - #78160 77.20%
Mr. Imperfect - G to F on 9/5 to S on 9/17 - #78113 -33.96%

I've been away from my desktop on training so Mr. Perfect had a bit of a break from reporting, but not from trading. Here's where things sit with him now:

The month started off with the weakness in I then S. But that quickly changed to a weakness in F. Mr. Perfect grabbed some C then scooted over to the I fund when it started going crazy.
A couple red days in there, but it wasn't anything for Mr. Perfect to worry about. The F fund losses were not enough to give up the losses in I and S, so Mr. Imperfect has been hanging out in G for the last 8 days.

Mr. Perfect - G to C on 10/3 to I on 10/7 - #79290 88.81%
Mr. Imperfect - S to I on 10/2 to S on 10/7 to G on 10/9 - #7291 -36.97%

No changes from last week. Mr. Imperfect can't put together enough bad days to make a move. But lucky for him the G-fund has been having extremely low gains. Mr. Perfect has been watching S, but as yet, it's still better for him to stay in I.

Mr. Perfect - G to C on 10/3 to I on 10/7 - #79290 90.11%
Mr. Imperfect - S to I on 10/2 to S on 10/7 to G on 10/9 - #79291 -36.96%

October Update

Nothing new to report since the 9th of October. Mr. Perfect went to I on the 7th and stayed there. Mr. Imperfect went to G on the 9th and stayed there. They both looked around for other opportunites, but nothing was as nice as sitting put. I look forward to seeing Atrius's Seasonal Musings for the I fund and how it compares to normal; too bad for the I-fund's -2.27% loss on the first three trading days.

Mr. Perfect - G to C on 10/3 to I on 10/7 - #79290 91.29%
Mr. Imperfect - S to I on 10/2 to S on 10/7 to G on 10/9 - #79291 -36.95%

fordest,

I appreciate your updates. Keep 'em coming.

I'm planning on doing my update sometime this weekend, or earlier if I find some time to crunch the numbers after work one evening.

Another lengthy wait for Mr. Perfect updates. I have been doing quite a bit of traveling. But here we go.

Mr. Perfect started off in the I fund after October's amazing I-run. But it didn't last long. He moved over for a day in the F before finding a new home in the S. He has been in the G for the last three days avoiding small losses and waiting for a turn around. Mr. Imperfect took over his brother's house in the I-fund for almost a week when he abandoned it. Moving in from the F fund then going to G to avoid the midmonth gains.

Mr. Perfect - I to F on 11/6 to S on 11/7 to G on 11/20 - #84430 97.21%
Mr. Imperfect - G to F on 11/4 to I on 11/8 to G on 11/15 - #84431 -38.03%
