Re: S Fund too expensive???
Basically Momday’s low was my line. If hourly closes below that started happening, most likely prices were headed lower. I was looking for some gaps to get filled and one did and now i’m watching the other gap.

Re: S Fund too expensive???
I thought the following might help to see where we are at.
The S fund is $4.20 cents off its all time high of $54.69 for a 7.99% difference, as of 3-6.
The C fund is $1.90 cents off its all time high of $41.80 for a 4.65% difference, as of 3-6.
The I fund is $3.42 cents off its all time high of $32.87 for a 10.98% difference, as of 3-6.
I am human so of course double check my math. I rounded up or down to the hundreths place to simplify the calculation.

I think I’m going to take some out of the C transfer it to the S. I feel much more comfortable with the price now than I did on Monday.

Positive divergence on the hourly RSI and bottoming action on the hourly stochastic. Likely, a relief rally coming soon. I believe more downside, thereafter.
I’m targeting the 2720 gap, 2628 low, then 2644 and 2574 if the wheels fall off with a final gap at 2472.
Good luck.

Re: S Fund too expensive???
Please explain the gap. Anyone...I lost a friend that retired on me before he explained the gap to me. He told me that gap must be filled. He was old and very wise. I've always filled it Pretty well I think, yet it had nothing to do with investments. For real, please someone explain.. Thanks everyone.usps2013 wrote:Positive divergence on the hourly RSI and bottoming action on the hourly stochastic. Likely, a relief rally coming soon. I believe more downside, thereafter.

Tomi. Please make it easy for me to get. Maybe a chart. Btw, your charts make things easier to understand. There pretty much on target for making a move. Thank you! I check em out every morning.

Putting it in beach bum terms, there's a gap in trading between 4:00 p.m. and 9:30 a.m., Florida time. But, a lot can happen during those hours, e.g. China trade data. So, during those off hours, traders place their orders so they can buy or sell when the market opens at 9:30. Thus, you'll see another gap (jump or drop) in the market as soon as it opens.

It's a part of the market I don't spend much time with, but this may help a little.misfit wrote: ...Tomi. Please make it easy for me to get.
"A gap on a daily chart happens when the stock closes at one price but opens the following day at a different price. This happens because buy or sell orders are placed before the open that cause the price to open higher or lower than the previous day's close. All a gap signifies is that we did not trade for certain prices because the market moved too fast in one direction."
When I hear someone say “gaps always get filled”, to me that just means if the market traded at any price once, it will most likely trade at that price again. It could be in the next week or in five years. While gaps are an interesting marker on a chart because they signify a market moving event, they can’t predict when a market will trade at those prices again. It could be the next week or it could be ten years; you just don’t know.”

Re: S Fund too expensive???
Are the S and C funds too expensive??? Well, that depends on one very important piece of information that nobody really knows quite yet. The question is: are we headed for a true earnings and global economic recession. Because all the central banks have distorted markets for 10 years with low rates, they have little to no ammunition to counter a recession, which could result in massive losses to the index funds. I believe the S&P averages around 6-8% historically. Look at the returns since 2009. That day of reckoning will probably come at some point. Is it this year? I doubt it.

I was able to get out of S/C funds before this week's pullback. Is now the time to get back in? Or are we expecting it to go lower until US/China trade deals are reached? Today seems like a good day with DOW futures opening down 220 points. Thanks.

I wouldn't mess with the Index's until there is news for a trade rally. There is no news that can build them up, Fed shutdown numbers will hurt Q1 earnings, trade has been priced in, FED Reserve is already in (can really only cause damage now), jobs are already good (this month was 160K lower though). Market has been overpriced. There will be a 5-8% sell correction probably back around the 2600-2650 levels.
