A tool I've just pulled out of the box. It is similar to SAR, except that it doesn't change when price moves in the direction opposite of the current trend. Still trying to unpack it. Advice appreciated.

This looks like a lagging indicator to me, but I don't know much about technical

That was my thought too...but I tend to lean on others for the technical components.

Technical indicators of trend seem to be based on existing data.

Are the there any truly leading indicators?

Excellent point. I think people sometimes jump the ship too soon with the 200 day or other indicators when they get close. Sometimes it's a BIG mistake (especially with gold or nat gas).
