First year in retirement question.

First year in retirement question.
I retired on Jan 31, 2018. I was wondering if I receive a W2 for that month, and a 1099R for the remaining eleven months? Or will the 1099R cover the whole year?
If anybody has experience with this, or knows of a good resource to find this answer, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jack

Re: First year in retirement question.
You will get a W-2 for your pay in January plus any annual leave paid, and a 1099R for the other Eleven months.

Thank you.

You could probably find an electronic version through DFAS my pay. I would check.
