How to find unclaimed money from the government https://www.usa.gov/unclaimed-money

Link with map of states websites https://unclaimed.org/ National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA)

I found money (>$800) in Texas & and a small amount in Wyoming.

https://missingmoney.com/ covers all states

This is very useful, thank you. Nothing in my name, I did find a bit in my Wife's and my Dad's names.

I found money but couldn’t claim it. It was a cashier’s check from 10+ years ago. And they required that I have a copy of the check to claim it. The bank doesn’t keep records past a few years. The state continues to make interest off unclaimed property.

That's too bad md2018. In talking to someone, they said to submit whatever documentation you have.
I got my check from Wyoming yesterday. They didn't even require any application.
Still waiting on larger amount from Texas, but they processed several from 1989 that I didn't have documentation for other than property records that showed deed records in the county where I had lived for the Electric Coop. They even added a few smaller dollar ones for and additional $18. Still have a few others that I have to wait to file since any supporting paperwork is in another state at the moment.

Evilanne, many thanks for posting. I've submitted several claims for property in two separate states this week.
