The reform of Freddie/Fannie is underway, but misguided... Now to refi my home, I have to provide 2 years of tax returns, plus small bus. tax returns, plus K-1's. All documentation to document the documentation banks already have. The govt is looking to collect all this info on the common people and will use it against them later. I have never paid a bill late, have an excellent credit score, and a good stable income. What more do they need to know...
The real problem with the financial reform was the repeal of the Glass-Steegall Depression era law in 1999 that allowed banks to lend to blow the line (subprime) applicants. This was not even addressed in the current legislation.
Focus on the big boys... they are where the trouble is, not the litlle common man.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CRA'S DID NOT CAUSE THIS CRISIS, THE EMPIRICAL DATA IS OUT THERE AND YOU CAN SEE IT... IN FACT, CRA'S WORKED AS THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO.
GLB (1998, thank Clinton for that one) is not going to be repealed for better or worse. I believe in securitization when proper oversight and implementation is there.
