I suppose the scenerio is that with the elections in April the new government will scuttle the whole bailout deal, but leaving the Euro in 2012 seems a long shot. I say it happens 2013.

I don't think they will leave the euro. If they do it would devistate the international markets for a while. On the + side that means we can jump in when they are low and ride out the recovery for some nice gains. I voted no but I hope for yes. :twisted:

I think they only way they dont leave the Euro is if the richer countries in Europe just agree to subsidize them indefinitely. Nothing they are doing or have done thusfar solves the basic underlying issue of a lack of economic competitiveness in Greece. On top of that all they have done is convert private debt to EFSF/IMF debt, while at the same time the overall debt load has increased even with the private debt haircut. The situation is hopeless the way it stands. The only two possible solutions are Greece leaves the Euro & devalues their currency (which appears more and more likely) or the other European nations subsidize the economies of the weaker ones.
