COLA 2.0% ?

Post by spooner4 »

Did anyone notice that the BLS CPI W for the past 12 months is 2.3%, while the government states that the CPI W for the past 12 months is 2%. Whats up with this? Are we losing .3% in our next COLA? Is the government giving us FAKE news?

The cola is 2%. Better than .03%.

Wow, there's a sad mentality frequently displayed on this forum.

Wrong is wrong. Playing it off as "well, don't think it's too bad that they wronged you, because they could have wronged you worse" - what kind of "wrong" rationale is that?
Where's your sense of ethics bushman and Scorpio70?

I'm not saying we each have to stand up and fight for every bit that gets taken, but don't play it off and rationalize it as being OK when someone else is harmed.

As much as we get trained not to cheat people or the government, we shouldn't accept anyone else cheating, either. I expect it's only going to get worse down the road when the national debt starts squeezing the budget.

Well said, ethics perception aside. :D

As far as I can tell congress seems motivated to harm us, so not appearing ungrateful is a valid strategy sometimes.

so... not appearing ungrateful = appearing grateful? Its not uncommonly unusual, but in general, double negatives are confusing unless you can't not express it in any other way. :D
