What is the effective date for doing a rollover?

Recently, I have been considering doing an age-based in-service withdrawal/rollover to my personal IRA (I just turned 60 last month). A large portion of my TSP balance is currently in the 'I' fund, and I expect that the 'I' will be taking a big hit today due to this Brexit vote. My question is: if I did my rollover today, would it take effect on what's showing as today's current balance or the end of the day balance (which I suspect could be significantly lower)?

Sorry. It takes about 2 weeks after TSP receives your application to withdraw. As I understand it any of the brokerage firms like Fidelity, TD, etc. can help you do this over the phone and they forward your application to TSP. But TSP is slow to transfer your account. Expect at least 2 weeks and then another week for the transfer to process through the brokerage house. In the meantime, you can continue to manage your Fantasy Account and move closer to the top Players.

IMHO you are doing a smart move, just have to wait for it to happen.

You can't initiate the transfer over the phone. TSP requires a completed original signed and notarized TSP-75 Age based in-service withdrawal form sent to them.

There's a section on the TSP-75 that requires your brokers signature and address to mail the rollover check so, you need to get their signature too before mailing or faxing the form to TSP.
